Will Disney's Bob Iger Run for President in 2020? Hollywood Friends Are Nudging
www.hollywoodreporter.com ^ | 3-1-2017 | Tatiana Siegel

Iger told THR in June that "a lot of people have urged me to seek political office," and now he's considering the prodding for him to lead the Democratic ticket. Disney CEO Bob Iger already runs the world's most successful media company. But could his impeccable mogul credentials carry him to the Oval Office?

Sources say Iger has told friends he is considering their nudges that he make a run for president in 2020 as a Democrat. There’s a hitch. Any political future would hinge on Iger, 66, finding a Disney successor, of course. (Complicating matters, in February, he told financial analysts he would be "open" to remaining as CEO after his contract ends in June 2018.)

Iger told THR in June that "a lot of people — a lot — have urged me to seek political office" but denied he would consider a run for California governor or senator, positions that historically have served as stepping stones to the White House. However, Iger didn’t specifically address the prospect of a White House run at the time.

Here's a question for Iger:

- Should men that think they're women be able to use the women's restrooms at Disney? -

I don't believe this would be good for Disney business but, if he wants to play politics, he should answer the question.

As the ‘Rats pursue the non-politician meme due to Trump successes, it’s funny... they pay no heed to the schizophrenic nature of the electorate and pendulum politics.

In 8 years, the public may well be ready to switch to a politician again, just when the ‘Rats put up a celebrity, when they have no bench, while the pubs have a quite extensive bench of seasoned politicians from state ranks.

I don’t think they want a business perosn, they’ll recruit celebrities. Oprah, Clooney, Decaprio...like that.

Too bad Babs Striesand is too old and ugly, maybe Whoopi?

Their bench is empty so they’ve got to go outside.

Whoever it is, Bernie ain’t going away.

This is funny. As Disney has gotten political the share price and many of the segments have taken a hit. Not such a great businessman!

Seek and ye shall lose.

I’d say he’s got quite a chance with all that positive name recognition.

Yahoo!!!

Let’s start his new nickname to undermine starting now:

“Pixel Bob”.

He is just a caricature of himself, not to be taken seriously!

Managing cartoons is no training for running a country. Things are real hear, not some magic kingdom.

The White House is NOT a castle for him to run!!!

Cinderella - Chief of Staff (she thought it was supposed to be in charge of white house cleaning staff)

Democrats are getting deperate for a 2020 candidate even though it's 4 years away.

They would run Fidel Castro if he hadn't screwed them by dying 3 months ago,

They could have got Barack to work up a phony birth certificate for Fidel and got Hillary's mortician doctor to give him a clean bill of health.

Maybe they can get Nicolás Maduro to run as a democrat, even though his politics aren't as far left as they would like.

With Trump winning now every dumbass in Hollyweird and elsewhere is going to think they can do it too.

I can’t wait for the disappointment.

Please yes! Let make his scum bag tactics of hiring alien IT workers to replace US workers, and forcing the laid off workers to train their replacements to get their severance, issue 1 of the 2020 campaign.

Democrats are the biggest enemy of the working class. It is time that truth be a significant issue in elections.

Iger had his ass handed to him by the Chicoms in the opening of a theme park there. At the last minute the Chinese extracted a big share of the profits. Chinese billionaire Wang Jialin also builds theme parks. He has vowed to destroy Disney in his country.

Yeah, he really should if he is to run for president in 2020.

I have mixed views on this: On the one hand, it would be a perfect opportunity to oust Iger and do real repairs to Disney of the damages he, Eisner, and Katzenberg wrought with their politics. On the other, if he wins the 2020 presidency over Trump, it’s going to be Obama all over again, and we really don’t want that.

Let’s hope that when Iger leaves Disney, we actually GET a Conservative into Disney so that things can truly be fixed there, and maybe also fire several left-wing members while we’re at it.

He wouldn’t win. I don’t believe there is enough “white guilt” clown voters to put him in office like they did obama.

What kind of moron thinks the Dems are going to pick a Jewish male to get their nomination for president?

Yeah, because replacing American Disney workers with foreigners will go over so well with the voters.

Fair point. Well, if he does run, at least it will mean he won’t be able to run Disney anymore, and I’m banking on him losing, just to smash his smug face off. People complained about Eisner for justified reasons, yet they ignore that Iger makes the exact same problems Eisner did?
