The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 52% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Forty-seven percent (47%) disapprove.
The latest figures include 38% who Strongly Approve of the way Trump is performing and 38% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of 0. (see trends).

He won 306 pledged electoral votes with 46% of the popular vote. 52% would give him 4–6 more states if the election were held today.

Probably is. When have we ever seen accurate polling concerning this President?
I run into people who appreciate that Trump is actually trying to keep his campaign promises. One fellow at work was amazed that he was “not just trying to keep his promises, but to do it all in the first week!”
This is NOT Arnold Schwarzenegger we are talking about. Back when I was supporting Cruz, I had no way to know what kind of president Trump would be, though I was sure he could beat Mrs. Clinton even then. He has been making good on his promises and has earned my trust in spades, likely doing things that no man who has held political office could accomplish. He thrives on conflict, and that is a necessary prerequisite this time around.
Your last paragraph reflects my position on this whole thing as well.
It probably is higher. Lots of people have no idea who's on the other end of the line - and don't want to 'come out' as a Trump supporter. People lied to pollsters running up to the time of Trump's election too -- and for good reason.

Honest News would report a majority of Americans agree with Trump.
Instead, the fake news is using another poll stressing how low his numbers are - the fake news is ginning up violence.
And that is why the smug self-absorbed statist left hates him with an intensity that I've never seen before.
That 38% strongly disapprove is probably a solid bloc of permanent malcontents
The good thing is most people are now onto the fake news media and its treachery. The media is one of the most hated and distrusted institutions today. Their fake polls were exposed as just that, fake. Or else, Trump would not have been the winner last November 8.
