I run into people who appreciate that Trump is actually trying to keep his campaign promises. One fellow at work was amazed that he was “not just trying to keep his promises, but to do it all in the first week!”
This is NOT Arnold Schwarzenegger we are talking about. Back when I was supporting Cruz, I had no way to know what kind of president Trump would be, though I was sure he could beat Mrs. Clinton even then. He has been making good on his promises and has earned my trust in spades, likely doing things that no man who has held political office could accomplish. He thrives on conflict, and that is a necessary prerequisite this time around.
Your last paragraph reflects my position on this whole thing as well.

I was thinking the exact same thing. He won me over, too and I was very skeptical. He has picked a great group to be around him and carry out his agenda. Never been this optimistic about the leadership of our country. God Bless President Trump. “Damn the torpedoes, Full speed ahead.”
