The city on Tuesday night agreed to a settlement with a Muslim group that wants to build a mega-mosque on 15 Mile at Mound Road, in the heart of a residential area filled with Christians who escaped Muslim persecution in Iraq.

The city planning commission had denied the mosque permit in September 2015, but nearly a year later the mosque sued the city claiming discrimination. In December 2016, the U.S. Department of Justice joined in with a similar suit claiming the city violated the Religious Land Use and Institutional Persons Act, or RLUIPA.
RLUIPA was passed by Congress in 2000 to discourage cities and towns from discriminating against houses of worship in zoning decisions. But the law was increasingly used under the Obama administration to bully local governments into accepting controversial mosque projects.

“Why would you build a mosque when you don’t have a large population of Shiites in Sterling Heights? The muslims took over Dearborn, you cannot go there and not believe you’re in Baghdad its so bad. Now they’ve set their sites on Sterling Heights where many of the Coptic Christians have settled and assimilated and integrated very nicely into American society. The Coptic’s came over to avoid being persecuted by muslims, and you can bet that all the Coptic owned businesses, eateries, party stores etc...etc... will sooner or later come under attack as a crime wave will begin shortly after the scummuslim mosque is built. That was the pattern in Dearborn and it will be in Sterling Heights too. Slowly but surely the muzzies are colonizing the Detroit are just as the Borg would do.

Government is supposed to serve the people, but it has happened before that governments turn against their people, opposing both their safety and their happiness. When that happens, the solution can be awkward:

You also have a lot of Chaldeans living there. Iraqi Christians who fled persecution from Muslims in Iraq decades ago.
Yes, I forgot to mention the Chaldeans also. It is a fact that the Christians that immigrate or come here as refugees tend to start businesses, get jobs and assimilate very well to American life. They are very industrious people, and very friendly too.
That might be a reaction to getting here and realizing:
"Hey, my neighbors aren't trying to murder me, steal all my stuff under law, and rape my womenfolk & children!"
