Monday’s network morning shows were aghast at President Trump continuing to criticize the liberal media with a Friday tweet in which he labeled them “fake news” and “the enemy of the American people.” In response, the ABC, NBC, and CBS broadcasts accused him of “declaring an all-out war on journalists” and compared Trump to Richard Nixon in the midst of Watergate.
On ABC’s Good Morning America, correspondent Cecilia Vega highlighted how the President “hit the road for a re-election rally” while “taking aim at his favorite target, the media,” remarking that “No Donald Trump rally would be complete without a healthy dose of media bashing.” She then proclaimed: “The latest onslaught follows this tweet, the President declaring all-out war on journalists, calling them ‘The enemy of the American people.’”

CSPAN is having viewers call in and discuss free speech this AM. There are a few idiotic comments, of course. But, you know what? On the whole, the discussion is more intelligent, objective, thoughtful, and informed than the garbage on the traditional networks or from unhinged political maniacs.
What’s funny is that he is not making “the press” out to be the boogyman. Rather, he is taking certain sites and reporters to task that DESPERATELY DESERVE IT!
And for many of us, our response is that it is about danged time someone with a bully pulpit shouted it out, and relentlessly so.

The LSM sure like to spend valuable air time talking about themselves. It’s a category of Fake News.
These “commentators if they had a shed of integrity would do well with a bit of introspection and reflection. The media is Leftist and inherently hostile to Trump. They lost the trust of the American people and themselves earned the label “fake news”. Their “news” coverage of the election was so obviously biased in favor of Clinton and negative toward Trump that their intent was obvious and their reporting not credible. Trump is right to point out to the American people in stark, vivid terms what these leftists in the media have done and continue to do.
These media shills should stop whining, but they won’t. But this blowback they are feeling is richly deserved and long overdue from the Republican/conservative side of the political spectrum.
Of course, only Trump has displayed the wherewithal to give them what they’ve long deserved.
My first reaction was that this was from that so called basketball team from Brooklyn.
C-Span lost me in 1992 when they enacted different phone lines for different views and let liberals use conservative phone lines. When it was first come, first serve conservatives were dominating. So C-Span responded to liberal complaints.
Amazing how much they whine and they don’t realize that the more they whine, the more the average Jane and Joe love Trump.
Seems to me that all the media needs to do is to report the news accurately & this would stop.

They were OK with Obama encouraging the murder of police officers, but reporters need to be protected from mere words?
Very astute! Being on the defense, as Republicans normally are, is a losing position and the media is not used to it.
The press is like the school yard bully that beat a poor little kid for his lunch money every day. Then one day when the kid dares to hit back, the bully goes running crying to the principal’s office complaining about getting beat up. Very sad and childish behavior. (but not unexpected)
