Some states have dropped the insanity defense and have changed the verdict to Guilty, but mentally ill. This simply means that instead of going to a regular prison, the Looney fine is sent to a maximum security prison only for the criminally insane. It’s normally a one way trip.
They take the same view of our protection when it comes to equally crazy, even more violent jihadis; our government openly despises us.

A childhood friend of my kids went schizophrenic, not before obsessing over one of my teenage daughters.
He put his mother through hell as his disease progressed. In and out of treatment centers several times, jumping off a building and breaking his legs. It ultimately was his mother’s responsibility to watch over him.
A few years ago, he decided he needed to murder his mother on the day before Halloween. He chased her out of the shower with a knife and bludgeoned her to death on the front lawn of their home.
He is imprisoned in a low to mid security Broward County Florida Jail, and has not gone to trial. This facility holds mentally ill lawbreakers. I check frequently to be sure he is still in there seeing that he was obsessed with my daughter, and knows well where we live. He has attacked correctional officers twice while incarcerated.
I am concerned he will go to trial and have the same outcome as “Baker”.

I hope he visits again with Dr. Jeffrey Waldman, maybe they can have a supper date to celebrate the true insanity of anybody accepting the opinion of a psychiatrist who would suggest that a person, psychotic non-psychotic, or any by other designation you like, that a human who cut the head off another human and then began to feast on the flesh of that human can somehow be anything close to normal and live freely among other humans.
Truly insane.
We’ll be reading about this guy’s next victim at some point. The judge will go on living a life without consequences.

I think you may be forgetting the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah as well as the Great Flood. Although it is obvious we are headed there.
