NEA President Lily Eskelsen García thanks parents, students, and education activists for their relentless efforts to stop the hostile takeover of our public schools by Betsy DeVos and the Trump administration.
These are more than likely the same parents who never do homework with their children, have a liberal agenda at home, have no clue what their children are doing on social media, never take their children to Sunday School and are probably pro-abortion, et. etc. etc.
Well... I agree but DeVos is not the answer. Promoting Islamic curriculum in our classrooms brought resistance from left & RIGHT.

Since that time and the "choice" discussions under way then, unions and so-called "progressives" have blocked any moves to provide parents and children relief from being imprisoned in failing schools--especially those in inner cities where minorities continue to suffer.
Union influence from the largest union in America, wielding its power through the Progressive Democrat voting block and bureaucrats harms poor and underprivileged students most.

I would be happier if they closed down Department of Education and block-granted the money back to the states.
And then over about 5 years, ramp down that budget to zero. Education should be a state and local issue, not federal.
Yeah, and you'll be just as effective at stopping it, as you were in denying Betsy DeVos the Cabinet position.

we wouldn’t have need to do a “hostile takeover of our public schools” if YOUR union hadn’t done a “hostile takeover” of our children IN .... OUR (not YOUR) public schools.

The only answer to American education is a return to local control of all schools and a return to the curricula prior to the Marxist takeover in 1930 which removed the Classical Christian curricula for operant conditioning.
I know that Charlotte Iserbyt knew that Charter school takeover of public schools had a very serious danger to it. Charter schools would have no parent oversight to the curricula-—and they could mess with the minds of children in occult ways where parents would be oblivious to it. The power to control the minds of little children draws really evil satanic, Billy-Ayers types, who understand the control you have over the masses if you control “education”.
Schools have to teach “Truth” and “Virtue”— the Wisdom of the Ages which formed our nation and Constitution and transmits the culture of the nation. That was before the elimination of the Great Books, including the Bible.
Trump needs to force her to do what he stated-—that education should be controlled locally. And all people on the school board should be parents of the children-—not union-funded “board” members who are controlled. Parents should all have property taxes reduced considerably-—since no huge bureaucracies, and so all could afford the few books they would need. There is no need for costly public schools. Never. No data-bases on children—no computers for children-—none of the mind-numbing, brain destroying technology allowed in schools, until after age 13. Children learn and memorize basics and learn to “think” critically by learning all the tools with real books and pencils which will be cheap because you are buying NOTHING that is copyrighted anymore. Use ALL books/materials before the Marxist destruction of Language/Words and forcing of irrationality (insanity) on children.
The only hostility is by democrat hacks 100%.
