President Donald Trump told a candidate to be his top science adviser that he agreed global warming had become a cult movement in the last five or 10 years.
Princeton University physicist Will Happer met with Trump in January about a week before the inauguration. He told Trump he believed man-made global warming had been exaggerated, to which Trump replied: I agree with you.
Very briefly. I said, Im sure you know my position that I think climate change has been tremendously exaggeratedits significance. Climate is important, always has been, but I think its become sort of a cult movement in the last five or 10 years, Happer told The Scientist (TS) in a wide-ranging interview.
So in just a sentence or two, I said, Thats my view of it, Happer said. And he said, Well, I agree with you. But thats all we discussed.

"This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model, for the first time in human history.
"This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the industrial revolution. That will not happen overnight and it will not happen at a single conference on climate change, be it COP 15, 21, 40 - you choose the number. It just does not occur like that. It is a process, because of the depth of the transformation."
--Christiane Fugueres, Executive Secretary of UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change)
Great way to describe it, a cult movement.
Interesting because Rick Perry, new Cabinet member and our former Governor of Texas, believes that global warming is a real threat. Somebody needs to send a message to Perry.
The Professor is exactly right; hammer to nail, spot on.
Wow, how’s this guy ever going to get a seat in a restaraunt now?
“Trump Agrees With Princeton Physicist That Global Warming Is A Cult Movement”
It’s a global governance scheme concocted by the hard left, although plenty of its proponents honestly believe it. ie, “useful idiots”.
CLIMATE CHANGE - IS NOTHING MORE THAN A PLAN TO “CONTROL” THE PEOPLE .. AND EVERY PART OF THEIR LIVES.
I believe that describes a “cult” pretty well.
Thought - speech - action - TOTAL CONTROL OF LIVES

The hateful media will run with this story non-stop for the next 24 hours breathlessly calling Trump a liar and criminal.
Let me guess Al Gore assumes the role of the “Flying Spaghetti Monster” in this cult. And it is a cult.
Try cult movement the last 25 years. YOu know that movie, The American President? They were complaining about global warming then (1995)....22 years later, we have NO GLOBAL WARMING.
No better evidence of the cult status of the global warming movement than their labeling anyone who disagrees a “denier”... a heretic. Man caused global warming is no longer a theory that can be proven or disproven by actual scientific investigation, but a cult dogma that cannot be questioned. Let’s hope that under President Trump the lid can be blown off this monumental hoax.
As well as a Communist front group.
Oh please put him on the board that hands out government grants. One of the main reasons we have politicized science is because they all want government handouts and so they create sensational results to get it.
“....they create sensational results to get it.” But need more funding to double and triple check the findings. Right?
Maybe so. Not sure. I suspect a lot of politicians simply buy into AGW out of pressure. They fold like cheap lawn chairs. With Trump in charge now it may smoke out the true believers. My guess is Perry will now fall in line with Trump's views. I hope so.
“Politicized science” ... they create sensational results”
Not it at all. We have politicized science because people paid no attention when the Clinton administration changed the criteria for getting government grants so that HAVING political purpose became an enhancement. Prior to that change only the science mattered in getting funded.
Science magazine (AAAS) at the time protested the change but the public (including conservatives) had no opposition or understanding how damaging science weaponized for liberals could be.
This guy understands this and I really hope he changes this immediately.
“Free Trade” is a cult movement.
