There may be a better replacement bill out there than Rand Paul’s, but if so I have not heard of it. The best thing would be to get the federal government out of medicine altogether. Failing that, the Paul bill would be a huge improvement over ObummerCare.

Hey Rand!

Here’s how this works:

Tom Price will construct a plan and he’s had years to listen to your perspective.

If he thinks any of it has merit, it will be incorporated into HIS plan.

When his plan comes out, review it, comment, negotiate.

DON’T GRANDSTAND!

For 20 years I paid into a fund that I was told I could use to pay for my health insurance when I retired. So then I retired and I chose to use a Christian Healthcare Ministry to cover me. But this was rejected because even though it does exactly the same thing... it is not considered insurance. I still pay for Christian Health Care Ministries, but I am not reimbursed. And if I do not use the money for some other health care needs every month it just goes back into the fund and I do not get it... ever. It was a total waste at this point.

I would like to see this corrected. Healthcare Ministries are for more efficient and less restrictive than traditional insurance plans.

It sound worth looking further into. Certainly better than ACA (A.K.A. Obamacare) which is worthless to be sure.

As much free market orientation as possible is the best way.

Yes, its not bad, but rather than guarantee “no cancellation” — simply enforce contracts.

People need to make sure policies they buy do not include cancellation clauses.

Moreover, developed steps to let a CASH system develop, rather than 3rd party insurance. 3rd party paying will automatically make it more complicated, and provide rich pickings for nanny-state activism. Remember before Obamacare how much we were told by Progs that we “hate” insurance companies?

Many illnesses are chronic, or not life-threatening. Wouldn’t it be ideal if I could just compare costs of various doctors and clinics to pay in CASH for a procedure I might want?

As much free market orientation as possible is the only way.

Any statute which does not move greatly in that direction is just more of the same. The fed govt must remove itself.

Re repeal of ACA aka “0 care” or Obamacare:

1. Progressives, Socialists, Democrats and some “Republicans” (do I repeat myself?) are squealing like stuck pigs “...you must repeal and replace!” NO!!! Yo must repeal. As Tom Sowell stated:

No matter how disastrously some policy has turned out, anyone who criticizes it can expect to hear: ‘But what would you replace it with?’ When you put out a fire, what do you replace it with?”

2. To gain congressional action to expedite repeal - remove ALL exemptions from 0 care granted to Congressmen, Unions (including SEIU), etc. and FORCE them to live under the 0 care law they rammed down the throats of citizens!

All excellent points. I agree.
