Schumer’s Dangerous Game: Senate Dems Confront Trump Having to Defend 23 Seats in 2018
breitbart.com ^ | Jan 24, 2017 | Neil W. McCabe

Senate Democrats know they may lose their last congressional tool to block legislation from the GOP-led Congress in November 2018, because they must defend 23 Seats seats while the GOP need only defend eight seats.

That leaves many of the 23 Democratic Senators — and their leaders — with the difficult task of balancing party solidarity and personal political survival. Party leaders commonly give vulnerable senators leeway to buck their party going into an election year, but if the Democrats allow a third of their senators to freelance on critical votes during the next two years, they cease to function as a party at all.

*snip*

The magic number is eight. With eight more seats, Senate Republicans no longer need worry about Democrats.

*snip*

Nine of the Democrats up in 2018 are freshmen, so they are coming into their first defense of their seat, typically the most difficult. Here they are with their 2012 percentage: Sen. Christopher Murphy (D.-Conn.), 55 percent; Sen. Angus King (I.-Maine), 53 percent; Sen. Mazie K. Hirona (D.-Hawaii), 63 percent; Sen. Joseph Donnelly (D.-Ind.), 50 percent; Sen. Timothy Kaine (D.-Va.), 53 percent; Sen. Martin T. Heinrich (D.-N.M.), 51 percent; Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D.-Mass.), 54 percent; Sen.Tammy Baldwin (D.-Wis.), 51 percent and Heidi K. Heitkamp (D.-N.D.), 50 percent.

Six of the nine won their seats in 2012 with 53 percent or less of the vote: Baldwin, 51 percent; Kaine, 53 percent; King, 53 percent; Heinrich, 51 percent; Heitkamp, 50 percent; and Donnelly, 50 percent.

There are four more Democratic senators from states Trump won and each has had tough races in past...

Trump has a little less than 2 years to address and fix the voter fraud

Any states with Soros machines need to be fixed, as the left "counts" the votes from these machines.

They ALWAYS favor democrats

ACORN was taken out and fined for using fraudulent practices to put millions of votes in for dems.

That wasn't the end of them.

After that happened, organizations popped up in every state run by ACORN but not with the tainted name.

Not only are there Democrat seats top be picked up, but there are Democrat in R jerseys that need to be replaced.

Corker, Hatch, Heller and Flake all voted for Rubio’s amnesty bill.

23 seats....need just a little bit of winning....

The Dems have to learn that it's stupid to try and kill a USSC appointment.

I predict that many Dems will NOT listen to Schumer....particularly because the 3 left on the page have all been confirmed as Federal judges before.

Wanna bet that the Trump team know exactly where the voter fraud was and is used repeatedly year and year and exactly who instigated it?

I believe there are hundreds of Freepers who can give them some clues as to where to look, ya think?

People have been reporting voter fraud for years and it has fallen on purposefully “deaf ears” by those who support the voter fraud. Just saying. Comments anyone?

Yes that is what dems do, pretend to support our Constitutional Republic so they can seem to be on the right side.

We need to praise and thank them.

And then vote them out because they are going to be traitors to what they are doing now.

Yeah, right, that’s why Trump lost.

Dems will lose 6-10 senate seats in 2018.

Flake is SUCH an embarrassment! He is definitely a D in R’s clothing. I pray that a good Republican steps up and primaries him.

I suspect so, but it should be reasonably easy to identify and stop the worst abuses.

“Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate them. Put them on defense, maintain constant pressure, destroy their self-confidence. Compile a dossier on each. Defeat them in 2018.

Sen. Christopher Murphy (D.-Conn.)
Sen. Angus King (I.-Maine)
Sen. Mazie K. Hirona (D.-Hawaii)
Sen. Joseph Donnelly (D.-Ind.)
Sen. Timothy Kaine (D.-Va.)
Sen. Martin T. Heinrich (D.-N.M.)
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D.-Mass.)
Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D.-Wis.)
Sen. Heidi K. Heitkamp (D.-N.D.)

Perhaps a really effective move would be to have republican challengers come to Washington from those states with 3 or 4 staffers to walk around the senators office drawing out floor plans.

If Harry Reid was head of the GOP today, he would be trying to flip some of the Democrats. Remember in the 2000’s he was successful flipping Jeffords and Specter. Flip Manchin and Heitcamp now and suddenly the prospects for a veto proof majority in 2018 look much better.

However, status quo McConnell has not shown the ability to build cross party coalitions, much less persuade a colleague in the Senate to change sides.

Syncro : "After that happened, organizations popped up in every state run by ACORN but not with the tainted name. "

Don't forget the "rigged convention" ,
and the "Dirty Tricks" of Bob Creamer and Scott Floval, who, by their own admissions, had done so for decades.
Add to this Schumer and his need to defend all these Senate seats
and the DemoRats now have the title of " The Party of "NO !" and of Congressional obstruction.
Schumer is the Captain of the good ship Titanic, and it will sink him as well as the DemoRatic party !

Thank you for that valuable list of suggestions. I sure hope the Trump staff read FR or anyone who worked on the campaign can forward your suggestions to the “right” staffers.

Remove voter fraud from the mix, and all we’ll have left standing is Dems like Schumer, whose support is from big cities like NY.

Soros machines are only one problem. Allowing illegals to register and keeping dead folks on the roles is likely bigger
