Dem blockade frustrating Trump team; 'beachhead' units ready to go
Washington Examiner ^ | 1/19/17 | Byron York

Republicans, both in the incoming Trump administration and on Capitol Hill, are growing increasingly angry with Senate Democrats' efforts to slow the confirmation of Trump nominees. GOP lawmakers and staff often point out that the Senate confirmed seven Obama nominees — secretaries of agriculture, education, energy, homeland security, interior, veterans affairs and a budget director — on Inauguration Day 2009. Now, Democrats are saying they might — might — allow the confirmation of two Trump nominees on Friday.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is accusing Republicans of trying "to jam through Cabinet nominees in a way that hides their views from the American people." Schumer wants more extensive — read longer — committee hearings for Trump nominees, and without them, he said, "then [Republicans] should be prepared for that debate on the floor — extensive debate."

On Thursday, Schumer said Democrats might allow Inauguration Day votes on Secretary of Defense-designate James Mattis and Secretary of Homeland Security-designate John Kelly. So where Obama had seven, Trump will have two.

He should tell them that if they don’t like these the next ones will be even more conservative. They need to see He is not going to cave. Leave the job open if Dems obstruct.

As I’ve been saying, all Trump has to do is get McConnell to recess the Senate for 10 minutes while he recess appoints all the nominees that are getting hassled by the Dems. They can be confirmed later, and the dems can delay all they want, but it will let the nominees get to work immediately and send a signal that the little children will not get their way in this administration.

Schumer... look at him.

A once fairly handsome individual, 8 years of serving as 0's attack dog have aged him and greatly humbled his looks and carriage. But he'll keep on barking like a no-sense mutt all through the night and half the day. Apparently, it's all he knows to do irritatingly well.

Just look at the mess in Albany. Indictments. Arrests. Convictions. Investigation. Cuomo up to his eyebrows. Suspect “Shifty Schumer” is as well. Poor Amy will be heart broken if Uncle Chuckie goes to the slammer!

That would be slick, even if it didn't work.

When Obama put his choices up for Nomination you always heard a Republican or two chime in that “The President” should get the people he wants.

I believe Utah Senator Hatch is famous for it.

As I always ask Liberals, tell me if a Democrat or Republican said “what did the President know and when did he know it” during the Watergate Scandal.

Democrats are Party over Country and the Constitution every time. Republicans like Senator Hatch are their Bitches.

I’m confused. Why do we need their permission? Just schedule the vote Mitch.

If they don’t show up too bad.

The irony of Schumer complaining that Donald isn’t “draining the swamp” is beyond irony.
