Donald Trump will board his private jet just one more time before he is forced to bid it farewell ahead of being given Air Force One. The president-elect was seen getting off Trump Force One at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in DC on Wednesday night. And he didn't stay long, with his motorcade spotted heading back to the airport shortly after 9:15pm. After the final flight aboard his ostentatious jet on Wednesday, he will travel on a military plane on Thursday before he is sworn in on Friday. After that, he will begin using the presidential plane.
Officials had earlier said it would be 'nearly functionally impossible' for Trump not to use 'AF1'. While he was in Washington on Wednesday night, the president-elect attended two dinners, the first of which was packed with deep-pocket donors wanting to honor Mike Pence. People who ponied up between $500,000 and $1 million were able to attend the event at the National Portrait Gallery, according to Politico. Reporters were not allowed inside, but the New York Times was able to obtain quotes from Trump's speech to those at the dinner.

The difference between him and Obama (re: his Chicago or NYC date nights) is that Trump paid for his own plane.
Folks pretty excited at the hotel.
It will be interesting to see how he deals with staying at the Blair House tonight.
On another thread it was mentioned that he won’t be using his private jet to make the trip to DC today. It will be a military plane instead. Yesterday would have been the last time he used the 757 it appears.
I don’t really care, frankly. I just am pretty sure the taxpayer didn’t.
I wonder if his children will continue to use the plane.
‘After the final flight aboard his ostentatious jet on Wednesday’
The DailyMail, positioning itself for the next 4 years. And I thought the DailyMail was pretty middle of the road, even though it is always sensationalist.
THAT still doesn’t equate one frigging bit to “taxpayers paid for it” in any fashion. This condemnation of taking advantage of tax laws to avoid tax legally is not some cheat that steals money from taxpayers.
The effing government does that. Further, because some tax cut legislation is proposed, the kickbacks of “how are we going to pay for this tax cut” are pure horsesh!t.
The entitlement liabilities liberals want to impose on taxpayers is not an automatic damn income slot on the tally sheet. Government is supposed to live by its Constitutionally mandated expenditures and the means of taxation - not superfluous needless ‘programs.’
“Did he actually pay for it out of his own pocket or is it owned by the corporation?”
Trump built the company, owns the company so, yes, he owns the plane.
BTW very few folks ‘own’ a plane - they set up a cooperation to own the plane and then they have a level of insulation, liability wise.
Folks like Rush Limbaugh set up a corporate entity and lease the aircraft from said entity. This way if someone was to look up Rush’s tail number it would not come back: ‘EIB Enterprises but something like ‘Global Warming Research, Inc.’ Anonymous and a reduction in liability...
Take that John McCain. Trump is a Hobbit like us Deplorables.
“...ostentatious...”??? Media lunatics. What do they expect a self-made billionaire to fly...a 1930’s biplane crop duster. What fools... Oh, yeah. Losers...did I say losers?
Trump is on record saying that the kids will not get to use the air fleet.
I noticed that too.
I think they fly commercial.
I can see the headlines now...”TRUMP USES HIS OWN MONEY TO FLY TO WASHINGTON DC! MONEY THAT SHOULD HAVE WENT TO WIDOWS AND ORPHANS!”
