In some ways it sounds a lot like John McCain.
Benedict Arnold was once an American hero, too.
I don’t ever condone violence or racism. I also don’t ever condone lying either. I watched that video clip of John Lewis this weekend where he looked so believable and sanctimonious as he explained how he had never yet boycotted a president’s inauguration. However we now know that Lewis unquestionably lied in that interview. So this begs the question: when else did he lie? Do we have any evidence that he was actually beat up in Selma? Or do we just take his word on this like we took his word that he never boycotted a president’s inauguration before?

“I don’t plan to attend the inauguration. It will be the first one that I miss since I’ve been in the Congress.”

“Some members of the Black Caucus decided to boycott Inauguration Day; John Lewis, for instance, spent the day in his Atlanta district. He thought it would be hypocritical to attend Bush’s swearing-in because he doesn’t believe Bush is the true elected president.”
Selma, Alabama, Bloody Sunday, March 7, 1965:
Under the orders of a democrat governor 150 Alabama state troopers, sheriff s deputies, and others,
most if not all democrats themselves, order demonstrators to disperse.
After a short warning, wielding clubs, and tear gas, they advance on the demonstrators.
In the ensuing melee, John Lewis, 25 years old at the time, suffered a skull fracture.
He then goes on to join the party of his oppressors and becomes a lifelong democrat himself.
He turns himself into a civil rights icon and builds a political career on the strength of his black skin and the injury sustained at the march.
He dedicates his life to attacking, smearing and destroying members of the republican party even though it was republicans who
supported the demonstrators and opposed the democrat brutality back in 1965 on Bloody Sunday..
We’re always told he is an icon, and therefor beyond criticism. But no one is an icon this side of heaven, and no one is beyond criticism.
He has about as much relevance to me as a damned fire ant.
I hate those stinking things and given the chance, destroy as many as I can...and given the chance...this Lewis bozo can go the same route.
Nothing more than an irritating piss ant.
Indeed
Saw Mason Weaver, former black panther, on Tucker Carlson last night. YIKES! Talk about telling like it is. See link:

John Lewis gets savagely beaten by a gang of White racists in 1965 and is labeled a hero. My son gets savagely beaten by a gang of Black racists in 2017 and what does he get labeled? A victim.
“The Georgia Democrat was beaten up savagely by (white/Demonrat) Southern racists in 1965, and everyone appreciates very much his personal sacrifice to advance civil rights.”
I fixed that little part you missed.
I lived in Selma in 1966, at Craig AFB. It was a wonderful place to grow up - the kind of place where kids needed to start home when the street lights came on.
Now? The old base housing has been largely abandoned. There is a gang called the Craig AFB gang. Murders. Drugs. The population has declined 30%. 2 out of 3 whites have left, and it has gone from 50% black to 80% black.
“Fitts, the Selma historian, said the trend was hastened by a controversy involving Selma city schools superintendent Norward Roussell. Roussell, the city’s first black superintendent of schools, did away with a controversial tracking system that grouped students by their ability.
The majority white members of the city school board voted not to renew Roussell’s contract in December 1989, and the black school board members walked out, the New York Times reported.
Two months later, the white majority voted fire Roussell, sparking protests by black leaders and student sit-ins that resulted in closures at all of the city’s schools.
By the time the schools reopened, many of the white parents had removed their children from the city schools, Fitts said.
“My daughter spent the week off making candy to share with her 19 best friends, most of whom were no longer enrolled when she got back,” Fitts said, calling the resegregation of Selma’s schools “the bitterest defeat” of his life.
Today, just 2 percent of the students in Selma city schools are white.”

That is what liberals call “progress”.
This is the man that should be held up as an example for all of us. We have a building named after him at ISU but no one knows anything about him. Take time to read through his quotes, they are golden.
https://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/g/george_washington_carver.html
Wikipedia has sanitized info and of course, “suggests that Carver was bisexual and constrained by mores of his historic period.:

This is better: http://www.austintexas.gov/sites/default/files/files/Parks/Carver_Museum/Carver_Bio_and_Information.pdf
And the one that should be quoted often because of the times:
I will have to ask for help. can’t find it. The quote regarding those that wanted to make a living about race or as we know them, community developers.
