Trump seems to be bringing the worst of the GOP to heel, which I never thought was possible, frankly. Do you think that Rubio’s overwrought performance might have as much to do with evaporating personal power as it does with Aleppo? I’m not finding that he has expressed much of an opinion on this before/

Marco Rubio lied to the voters by claiming he opposed amnesty, then after being elected he joined Schumer and the Gang of 8 to pass an amnesty bill that had zero border security.
Isn’t it interesting that for decades, the western left just loved atheistic, totalitarian, communist Soviet Union, but they hate, with the white hot heat of a thousand suns, capitalistic (somewhat anyway), Christian(at least nominally), anti-sodomite Russia?
I think we can take the bear by the ears here. Putin fought dirty in at least some, if not all, reported circumstances.
This is a hallmark of the Russian mindset when it is at war. Putin is no worse than the rest, and might be better, since he seems to want to detente his way out of having to do this into the foreseeable future.

Little Marco is still bitter over the way Trump slapped him down in the primary. I really had to hold my nose to vote for him in the Senate race, but the liberal clown running against him would have been even worse.
Amazing to me that people, even here on FreeRepublic, want the natural born citizen clause gutted so that children of foreign nationals are considered natural born citizens.

Trump's cabinet is some of the HEAVIEST HEAVYWEIGHTS ever to serve America.
Even today, Russian political support helps keep the Castro regime in power and prevent the return of Cuban emigres to a free Cuba. An older Cuban woman whom I know well was a rabid Trump supporter because she knew him personally and had great affection and respect for him. She became hostile to Trump though solely because of the Russian angle.
Actually, a better built USA would be in a saner position with respect to anything it would want to help Europe with.
The kind of help that Iraq was given, was definitely not sane. They needed a stern but fair kingdom, something like what Iran had under the Shah. They were given a namby pamby democracy. About as soon does a fish need a bicycle.
And the current namby-pamby mindset would tie Europe’s hands behind its back when it comes to troublesome visitors who were better invited to go somewhere else.
Rubio teed it up and Corker stepped in with such a lawyerly insertion giving Tillerson a chance to clarify his position and deflate the issue.
That said, I am in no way fond of Rubio.
All things are ultimately orchestrated of God, but yes I could agree it is possible that something like this might end up being a special favorable divine provision, if Tillerson handles it masterfully.
