CHICAGO -- It is the video that has sparked outrage in Chicago and across the nation.
The kidnapping and torture of an 18-year-old Crystal Lake man with special needs was streamed on Facebook Live.
Thursday, shortly after the suspects were charged, the victim’s family spoke out for the first time.
"We are so grateful for the prayers and efforts that led to the safe return of our brother,” said David Boyd, the victim’s brother-in-law. “We are fully aware of the charges being brought against the offenders at this time we ask for continued prayers for all those involved."
The family also thanked the Streamwood and Chicago Police Departments for their efforts.
“He's doing well - as well as he could be at this time,” Boyd said of the victim.
The video has made it all the way to the White House.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest said, "They are still conducting an investigation about the disturbing images that we saw on that video. They do demonstrate a level of depravity that is an outrage to a lot of Americans. I haven't spoken to the president about it, but I'm confident that he would be angered by the images that are depicted on that video."
Mayor Emanuel weighed in as well calling the video “sickening.”
I’m wondering if the stolen vehicle is an indication that they were planning on killing the victim.
I want to know why the victim is an ‘18-year-old man’ and the perps are ‘18 to 24-year-old teens’.
This entire media-built idea that they’re ‘just kids’ is infuriating.

For a “lot of” Americans January 20th just can’t come soon enough so we can start to put all of this bull*hit behind us and begin to forget that there ever was a _resident Obama and eventually erace him and his vile administration from our collective memories.
May our only future encounters be opportunities to bring the criminals to their just deserts.

I wonder how well that kids parents knew his “friend” when they dropped him off for a couple of days.
If they had taken the video down, would there have been any charges filed?
The news is that the live streamed it - they not only thought it was OK to do this, they thought that their friends would endorse it and celebrate it.
A group of blacks expected to receive kudos and popular support for torturing and possibly lynching a white man.
The fact that the police were not immediately called by their friends who were watching it is proof that many of their group either agreed or tacitly approved of the act and couldn’t condemn it, like “moderate” Muslims who can’t condemn terrorism and instead fall into the no-true-Muslim logical fallacy.
I really wouldn’t know. Presumably they encountered him in McDonald’s and it went south from there.

Legally an 18-year-old is of course an adult, so under the law he is a man. But one does wonder what happened to that favorite media practice (under certain circumstances) of calling young adults “youths”?
I wonder if Congress could investigate Facebook for aiding and abetting a hate crime, then fine them out of existence? Take that Zuckerberg...
Bad seeds to be sure. I do think they the girls may have instigated this event. It wasn’t until they got to the girls that the torture began.
The boy was dropped off at a McDonalds by a family member. because he was going to stay overnight with the guy who was his classmate. Apparently he picked him up in a stolen vehicle. They hung out together for two days, before they went to see the girls. That is when hell broke loose.

There is a critical fact that many people are overlooking in the Chicago torture case.
The news media and police have been saying they don’t understand why the thugs posted the video or people are just dismissing it saying they are were “dumb”
There is a simple reason they posted the video.
They didn’t fear any repercussions. They believed that torturing a white man because of his skin color was something that the females 700+ Facebook friends would approve of.
Why did they think this?
The media Every...Single...Day is telling black people that white people and white men in particular are the cause of their problems. If it weren’t for those racist white men, places like Chicago, Baltimore, and St Louis would be a paradise for blacks.
In those black torturers minds it is common sense to get a white man and torture him because you hate him so much. And obviously all their friends must feel this way too, so lets put this video online for all our black friends to share in this experience.
They flat out said that they wanted the video to go viral. Because in their communities torturing a white person is a good thing. It’s the right thing to do. White men deserve to be tortured, after all they are responsible for all the world’s problems.
Please Don’t fall into the media trap that they were just “dumb”. They knew what they were doing. They were living up to the ideals and standards for their community which the media has helped shape.
They media has spent decades and years telling black communities that racist white people are holding them down. And the media has spent the past year telling them that Donald trump will enslave them and all white people are racists since the majority of whites voted for Trump.
Please spread the word and ask why the media and liberal politicians help to demonize white people and white men in particular.

I also won’t read the article. I have a 6 yo special needs GS. I heard some on the audio once. It was so upsetting I can’t bare to read an article or hear/watch the video. I hope those monsters rot in hell
I should have put up that this video of the family also included video clips of the torture.First time I had seen it.

My point was thar he is referred to as a man while his attackers are often referred to as “teens.” Although one of them is 24.
All others are 18, the same age as the man.
