Most US cities of 500K or more have at least one area and most likely two-three areas in that city that are noticeably Hispanic. Take Nashville for example. The southern area around Harding Road ,especially around Nolensville Rd. has signs on stores in Spanish. I do not recognize that area nor do I want to be there. Then Antioch just south of the airport and Madison(north of Nashville) is packed. I do not want my wife near these areas.
Moved to North California ( near Oregon border) and ten years ago there were few Spanish speakers. Now the homeless camps and bus stops( though rural) are mainly Spanish speaking. Colleges and public schools growth is in ESL and segregated teaching. It's unsustainable because there wasn't work in this area back then and since I moved here they've regulated fishing/crabbing almost out of existence, closed the pulp mills and the lumber mills. I won't even discuss( disgusted) what California is doing to the beef and dairy farmers( and others). Lot of illegal farming though.
I like the Spanish culture growing up out here most my life. The sad part is there is a whole new element of very dangerous people with no papers and just ruin help programs. Then there are the new roving gangs connected to older gangs looking to branch and grow. Too much to write about. There is a serious bunch of cartels in the mountains growing, cooking and distributing. The best answer is closing that border and start deporting then billing Mexico and other Central American countries for OUR work. It'll be bad no matter with all the sacred bleeding hearts but again this is unsustainable if we still want some semblance of America.
