Bonjour y'all.

Sorry I'm late. SweetiePalm's blood sugar crashed suddenly. She's fine but these things creep me out.

Based on the level of rabid dishonesty I have witnessed in the Fake Media out of DC this election year, I no longer believe anything reported until I see the raw quote from Trump.

I never trusted the media based on 30 years of watching them deliberately misquoting people but now we all know for certain they are willing to manufacture PR falsehoods for the DNC. Until Trump comes out and says it, anyone claiming to speak for him can be assumed to be fake new.

Off topic excerpt from a David French article in National Review:

“It’s also time to revisit the alleged “failure” of the Republicans in Congress—the failure that triggered so much anger against the GOP establishment. But for congressional Republicans’ stubborn resistance, Obama would enjoy the kind of legacy that would be truly hard to undo. A cap-and-trade system for carbon emissions would have transformed our economy. The employment nondiscrimination act would have metastasized the culture war, bringing the conflict between gay rights and religious liberty to every nook and cranny of American life. Card-check legislation could have helped revitalized highly partisan Democratic unions. Gun-control legislation would have limited the Second Amendment rights of Americans from coast to coast. None of these things happened, in large part because even the most “squishy” Republican moderates locked arms wit the Tea Party to block Obama’s most ambitious reforms.”

Not to mention the Republicans’ stand against Obama’s nominee for the vacant Supreme Court post.

It appears there was more being accomplished by the Republican Congress than I’d realized, and I’m grateful.

It’s been smart of Trump to reach over the heads of the chattering classes and speak to us directly. And refreshing.

David French-rabid never Trump is just whitewashing the complete failure of the GOP-E in Congress.

That the Democrats were unable to advance their legislative agenda is not a “victory” for the GOPE. That is the barest minimum level of competency for a party that controls Congress.

Contrast that with the GOP Congress's repeated rubber stamping of Obama spending which has instituted spending for the the Progressive agenda to a level not seen since LBJ was President. That spending is now baked into the Fed Budget and will now be incredibly difficult to dismantle.

Agree. Trump really has an amazing energy level. He is going to need it since he faces a fight unlike any he has ever seen. The level of fundamental poltical corruption in DC, including the supposed “Journalists” is staggering.

I know, I know. I’m just glad they did anything good. After eight years of anger and depression during Obama’s reign, I’m happy about any good news. I still have trouble believing the Democrats are on their way out; it’s certainly brightened my Christmas!

My pet theory is Gingrich was authorized to say this as a smokescreen. Trump needs a few of the swamp creatures to help enact his agenda during his first year, so this is going to be the unofficial word for a while.

Trump will likely drain the swamp without saying so.

I can handle that.

David Leip still uses the old Republican=blue and Democrat=red colors! That’s what I was accustomed to during my time in the Air Force, and I still remember my surprise on election night 1996 to see that the mainstream media had reversied the colors. In the military identification of national identification, blue had always indicated “true blue,” as in loyalty to the free western world, and red had always indicated allegiance to communist/socialist nations, which made it the perfect color for Democrats. I’m sure that’s why the change was made in the media—trying to get the “loyal” color for the liberals and hide their preference for socialism and communism.
