A LORRY has ploughed into a Christmas market in Berlin, killing several and injuring 50 others in what police believe is a deliberate attack.
The crash happened in Breitscheidplatz, a major public square in the city in a chilling echo of the deadly terror attack in Nice earlier this year.
Horrifying pictures show wounded people being treated on the ground and debris from the attack strewn across the road.
A huge manhunt is now under way after the driver fled the scene, with police confirming they believe it was a deliberate terror attack.
Local media reported that the truck has Polish license plates.

From the way German newspapers report it appears that the dead man in the truck was also a perp.
Polish media report that contact with the Polish driver was interrupted before the attack.
Indeed appears to be an hijacked truck.
