Exclusive: PEOTUS Trump Picks Exxon Chairman Tillerson For Tough New Iran Policy
Debkfiles Intelligence Newsletter ^ | Exclusive Report December 14, 2016, 11:57 AM (IDT | Gioria Shamis editor in chief/Diane Shalem

Posted on 12/14/2016 5:10:15 AM PST by drewh

Rex Tillerson, Chairman an CEO of Exxon Mobil, was named this week as the next administration’s Secretary of State to execute the tough foreign policies charted by president-elect Donald Trump, including his decision to stiffen the nuclear accord signed with Iran as soon as he moves into the White House on Jan. 20.

DEBKAfile reports this exclusively from New York and its intelligence sources. While campaigning for the presidency, Trump called the accord “the worst deal” ever.

According to our sources, a special team is already working on revisions of the accord which the US and five other global powers concluded with Iran in 2015 in the hope of retarding Iran’s nuclear weapons program by a decade.

As new president, Trump will issue Tehran with a unilateral demand to accept those revisions as pre-condition for the continuation of relations between the US and Iran. He does not intend consulting America’s co-signers, Russia, China, Germany, Britain and France, or asking them for their endorsement of the revamped accord.

The teams preparing the Trump administration’s Iran policy were put in place last week by Tillerson and designated national security adviser Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn.

No members of the incumbent NSC, State Department, Pentagon or Treasury, who managed the Obama administration’s Iran policy, was invited to take part. The teams were instead chosen from among scientists, military leaders and intelligence officials who opposed the nuclear accord with Iran. Also attached were former administration officials hired by Exxon for their extensive knowledge of Iran’s oil trade and their close ties with oil circles in the Gulf Emirates, which like Israel, fought hard to pre-empt the nuclear deal with Iran.

Our sources have also learned that if Iran rejects the revised accord, the president elect has a list of new economic sanctions drawn up which are a lot tougher than the sanctions regime imposed by the Bush and Obama administrations.

The incoming president will have a fight on his hands to get the Tillerson appointment through the Senate in the face of objections raised by Republican lawmakers over his ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin. However, Trump hopes to turn those ties to his advantage. He trusts that Tillerson is just the man to sell the new administration’s Iran policies to the Russian president.

My guess is McCain-Rubio-Graham are angling for some give on “Dreamers” and Immigration in exchange for voting for Tillerson. Trump should tell them to go pound sand.

He should go for the win by picking off 4, or more, moderate Dems who have to stand for reelection in 2018 instead. Show the RINO clown posse their impotence at the start of the Presidency rather then waste time try to bargain with these narcissistic morons.

LOL! hey will claim he’s too close to Russia even as they are told that one of his big duties will be to rein in Iran, which is at least semi-partnering with Russia. What a conundrum.....

I liked Tillerson until I found out he was head of the boy scouts when they decided it would be a great idea to let homosexual men take little boys on camping trips.

If McCain throws a wrench in the works, his entire miserable military record must be put out there for all to see.

Plenty of Vietnam vets around who can attest to why he’s called ‘Songbird’ McCain.

Reveal the events leading up to, during, and coverup of the USS Forrestal disaster.

How about his record as a pilot?

I’m sure a lot of his record is either under wraps or scrubbed, but the truth can still get out there.

All three of these RINOs will soon find out there will be hell to pay if they pull anything.

And Iran says no, Trump pulls from the agreement and resumes sanctions, and Iran continues to sell and buy from Russia, China, Germany, Britain, France, and the rest of Europe and Asia. Then what?

Tillerson will be confirmed. The Chamber of Commerce will use their lobbying muscle to get it done. But there will be a price to be paid later. A big one.

Fake news. That boy scout slander is lying by omission. It had nothing to do with gay scout leaders. It had to do with what to do about gay scouts.

From the story that promoted this explosion of Never Trumper butt hurt ranting about Tillerson

Tillerson was instrumental in lobbying the Scouts’ board to accept openly gay youths, said John Hammer, president of the Washington think tank Center for Strategic and International Studies, of which Tillerson is a board member. "I can’t get into the intimacy of these conversations. But he agonized over this. He prayed on it, and ultimately he came to the conclusion the only thing that can guide him here is what’s best for the young boys,” he said. "I think he became a key leader in helping the group come to a consensus."

That sounds a bit problematic to me also. But there is a big job to be done and I don’t believe I have to like him.

I was on the fence too but I figure everyone at this level has skeletons in the closet and hoping for squeaky clean Knight in shining armor is probably a futile endeavor. It doesn’t mean I have to like it but I’m all in with Trump so giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Sounds like that if there is anyone who knows how to put a choke hold on Iran it is Tillerson. With his background he doesn’t even need to study the question. He could find all the right pressure points in his sleep.

Seriously? Goes to show how absolutely myopic many like u are on the right. If this report is true, Iran is going to get their heads handed to them and and entirely new approach will be in place for the ME, yet you are worried about gay scout leaders. Give me a break. Many on the right are just as ridiculous as those on the left.

Just a Few of Over 3,700 Politically Appointed Jobs

Aside from Cabinet secretaries and Supreme Court justices, whose nominations require the approval of the Senate, the President of the United States currently has the authority to unilaterally appoint over 300 people to high-level positions within the federal government.

According to the Government Accountability Office (GAO), most of these positions, known as "Presidential Appointments," pay from $99,628 to about $180,000 per year and include federal employee benefits.

Letting grown homosexual men into the tents of little boys IS A BIG DEAL when it’s mandated by the government. You might be A-OK with it but lots of people are not. And calling people with different opinions than yours “ridiculous” is what the liberal lefties do.

trusts that Tillerson is just the man to sell the new administration’s Iran policies to the Russian president.

And that is why we need to know how to deal with russia. So Mccain, do you want to deal with Iran directly or do you want to waste time with dinky Syria?
