Good question, and the answer would probably surprise us both. I’m sure there are probably Mexican Americans that still visit, and it wouldn’t surprise me that whites still visit as well.

It’s more like definitely. I live a couple hours away from you in NM and have heard the same from reputable sources, one being an Air Force CCT who lives near them.

Last time I was in El Paso I saw busloads of Mexican children crossing the border to attend American schools.
