If you are surprised to find out that Russia was interfering in the election, trying to influence voters in favor of Donald Trump, then I have a question for you: What rock were you hiding under for the last 18 months?
On social media, the pro-Russia propaganda coming out of the Trump corner has been relentless for well over a year. Conservatives resisting Trump during the primaries ran into and remarked on this repeatedly, finding at various times a combination of either useful-idiot white nationalists (the so-called alt-right) or suspiciously foreign-sounding voices, or both at the same time, stridently defending and praising Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump in the same breath.
What got more attention at the time was the overt racism of many of these "deplorables," from well before the Iowa caucuses. But the pro-Russia lean among them was also evident. Given Putin's propensity to kill journalists and silence political opponents through both lethal and non-lethal means, this is not some esoteric matter, it's quite serious.

If someone on "the right" uttered or wrote this phrase they would be viciously attacked from all corners using every form of media available.

Our “media” is a huge, lockstep bunch of leftists.
Those small number who are not, like Fox News, are in bed with the GOPe.
Nobody really, anywhere in “media” is for good old-fashioned American production, anymore. Nobody.
This is why Trump won, who nobody who is paying one ounce of attention, is completely fed up with both parties right now, and why NOBODY trusts our media anymore.
Rooting for Trump or denigrating Obama/Hillary could take many forms on the international political and diplomatic stage and a lot of it is fair game, IMO.
But I do not for a MINUTE believe that the Russians were solely responsible for hacking and revealing TRUTHS of the Democrat duplicity of the DNC, Hillary Campaign, or anything related to it. This was self-immolation in my opinion. They were ASKING for it IMO.
This crap about Russians unduly influencing or ‘hacking’ our election is pure bullshit - UNSOURCED AND UNPROVEN with real evidence that would hold up to public scrutiny.
