Texan

Christian

CEO

Oil

And we have a winner

And an unconfirmable Sec. of State. candidate. Sounds like a great Secretary of Energy to me.

Saw a report today that said Bolton wants the top job, was unwilling to accept a deputy position.

Government morons and politicians have never done one thing that business owners and ceo’s in the private sector have to do every week and that is work extremely hard for 70 plus hour per week every week to make their company successful.

Politicians just lie and gov workers surf the Internet all day for a paycheck . hard work? Harvard creeps, Obama et all never had a real job nor worked a day in their lives.

Lodi, please give us a profession or person who couldn't possibly benefit or profit from that position.

Anyone’s 401K would automatically rule them out, in your mind.

I was reading on Rush’s website and he said that he has always admired Tillerson.

He should 100% be chosen. This is a government BY the people and for the people. Those people don’t have to be broke. Contrary to what is in the media, those people are allowed to own business; in fact, it should be seen as a major benefit. I’m fully on board with Rex from what I’ve heard so far. First candidate that I’ve heard that has been exciting. Get on the train, it’s not business as usual and there is no need for “normal” in this administration.

SHUT UP??? LOL. I’m fiNE with just about anybody Trump picks. Only names I have seen that I don’t like linked to the job are Corker & an unconfirmable guy like Tillerson.

Lodi, we will note the impossibility of this confirmation. You may be right, but I doubt it.

Again, you are simply wrong. This is a fight I would LOVE to have! If John McCain and Ted Cruz and Rubio think that this man is unqualified let’s hear why. He is every bit as qualified as any lawyer and any politician that we so often assume is qualified. Tell me, how is John Kerry MORE qualified than this man? How was Hillary Clinton MORE qualified than Rex? How?!?

I couldn’t believe Corker was mentioned. I agree fully with you on that.

Finish the sentence

In 2010 Tillerson said that while the company acknowledged that humans were affecting the climate through greenhouse gas emissions to some degree, . . .

it was not yet clear “to what extent and therefore what can you do about it.”

Facts -- and findings -- are measurable. To what degree (is it acknowledged)? To what extent (is it NOT clear)? And what's the difference between "degree" and "extent?"

Yeah, let’s have a no win food fight over a cabinet appointment instead of repealing obamacare, building the wall, etc. Outstanding.

Trump has filled his cabinet with businessmen and generals which is his prerogative. But appointing another business guy without any government experience to the top diplomatic job is a beltway battle he won’t win.

It’s like Trump is waving a red flag at bull here. I wonder what he’s really up to? LOL.

Wonder if I qualify for a junior position ? Have worked a mere 50 hours per week averaged over my working years. Will have 8 days off for the entire calendrical fall season. My personal record is 91 hours in a week ,at least a half-dozen 84 hours weeks and years of 60 hour weeks.Just another lazy American..I remember mentioning to a friend that I had worked 2500-plus hours the previous year, and he replied “you can’t...there are only 40 hours in a work week and 50 working weeks...2 vacation weeks...”

Here’s an interview of Rex Tillerson.

Thank you for posting this link! This is a very interesting session. Tillerson is answering questions from students, sounded like MBA students. He got great questions, took them seriously and gave impressive answers. He touched on relations with Putin, climate change, his leadership style, commodity cycles, many subjects. He said he travels 60% of the time, all over the world. It is so refreshing to think of someone of his caliber as SoS. He has an engineering background. Wow, just comparing him to Hillary, or Kerry -- all I kept thinking is, the adults are back in charge!

I completely disagree with you. Being a politician is not a requirement to talk to other world leaders or to represent your peers. You have listened to the MSM far too long and you need to break free and open your eyes to what is possible and RIGHT. You don’t shy away from fights because they are hard. That will once again bring the country into further moral and cultural decay
