Ford CEO turns to Trump to help blunt EPA’s regulatory surge
American Thinker ^ | December 4, 2016 | John Smith

Ford Motor company CEO, Mark Fields, a staunch Trump opponent during the presidential campaign, now wants the President Elect to help with EPA’s surprise decision to keep long term fuel economy targets in place.

A mid-term review of corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) targets set in 2012 kicked off earlier this year, but the timing of the agency’s recent decision to maintain the 54.5 mile-per-gallon goal reeks of politics, Fields claims.

For automakers, reaching 54.5 mpg means extra costs. To avoid this, Ford is prepared to turn to its election campaign sparring partner — President-elect Donald Trump — for help.

The EPA is out-of-control with nonsensical Auto regulation

Its a main reason why cars are relatively so much more expensive as a portion of median income than they were 50 years ago.

Just one of the thousands of ways the government is destroying the middle class.

Donald is already being treated as though he is our President. That’s good. They know Obama’s not going to help, and he might even sic one of his agencies on them for daring to criticize his great legacy.

Already have a 2015 V8 in my driveway. If they relax the CAFE targets then V8's won't go away.

The key to winning in the auto industry involves keeping the price of gas reasonable and making car people want.

“And maybe he’ll bring back our V8’s again! We can dream!”

Bring them back? They’ve never left! All three Detroit automakers have cars with V8’s with horsepower that exceed 650! And if you want a luxury sedan that has that kind of power, buy yourself a Cadillac CTS-V!

Proof that Trump has everybody’s attention and is convincing him that he will improve our economy and eliminate killing regulations. Fasten your seat belts folks, it’s gonna be a helluva ride and on to GLORY!

Those vehicle requirements for extreme mileage are overdone, when you consider the biggest selling vehicles are pickups. With over regulation, most everyone will be driving pickups.

It’s only crony capitalism if it affects one company over others.

It’s only ‘crony conservatism’ if cuckservatives say it is. Putting Americans back to work is critical.
You very rarely ever see leftists manufacturing charges against other leftists. Trump will indeed try to be a president for all of us.

I’ve noticed you hardly ever can find engine horsepower ratings on the window stickers any more...you think maybe our overlords do not wish us to be overly concerned about such things? ;)

“Ford CEO turns to Trump to help blunt EPA’s regulatory surge”

Perfect. Ford CEO wants something from President Trump (revocation of bogus EPA mileage regs), President Trump wants something from the Ford CEO (no more jobs moved out of the U.S.); I think I see the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
