I miss old Frank, R.I.P. He was an underappreciated compose/musician/musical genius of the highest order...

Just to raise me up crop of dental floss.
Frank was a virulent lefty, from Baltimore of course. But what a brilliant musician, composer and satirist.

In all these years, I have forgotten Frank and how innovative he was.
Thank you SO much for the reminder.
What a hauntingly lovely tune

Thank you SO much for the reminder. What a hauntingly lovely tune Agreed.
"Watermelon in Easter Hay" is a stunning and lyrical guitar piece.

Not familiar with Mr. Zappa’s tributes to conservatism, and I have a significant chunk of his recorded work.
He certainly supported Vaclav Havel in the Czech revolution, which was anti-communist, but other than that you’d be hard pressed to find a kind word from Frank for the Right in general or Republican governance in specific over his long and storied career.

A local station around here has “Frank on Friday” every week for an hour at lunch time. Zappa was a composition genius.

Or for the Left. He despised hippies and drugs. He loved to tweak everyones noses

Yes I know he despised hippies. And he had it out for totalitarians like Tipper Gore and her husband.
But he saved his best bile for the Republicans. I don’t think anyone could seriously doubt that.

I think FZ did have an appreciation for technical correctness, especially in the performances of the music he wrote.
