Yes I am making plans.
My niece works for United Airlines and she us going to get me a ticket.
I am planning only for a quick 24 hour trip. Leave at 6pm and get into DC at 12 Midnight. Sleep a few hours at the airport. Then leave early to take the Metro into DC. See a few sights, stop in at Trump International for a drink, then to the swearing in, back to the airport and fly home, then collapse. Once in a lifetime opportunity.
I plan on going from S New England during that time.
It will be my third DC FR event (see my tagline).
IMHO the smartest thing to do will be to take the train out of New Haven CT for several reasons:
1. January may have icy roads which will make the drive down to DC a real pain / slow.
2. Only go for the day / leave early evening. Finding reasonably priced hotels < $200 will be difficult.
3. Parking is a big pain expensive pain in DC too, especially if snow removal forbids street side parking.
[Our Tea Party is taking a red eye special (we sleep on the bus).]
Thats a fantastic idea!!!!
Anyone Freepers in Central NJ doing anything similar? I’d love to join in! Or partner with someone to make it happen!!!
I expect to be there, and attend some of the events.
My 16-yr old son (big Trump fan) wants to go. My 18-yr old (in college in Norfolk) would probably like to go too. I’m considering it.
45th PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
ML/NJ
I was planning to go but duty calls. I have to go to Las Vegas for a trade show that week
I told my boss he owes me and I hate las vegas.
I just made a reservation at the Motel 6 at:
Motel 6 Washington DC SW-Springfield, VA
6868 Springfield Blvd, Springfield, VA, 22150 United States of America
They said there is another room left.
The good thing about this area, it is less than a mile from the metro station the way I understand it.
If I have to cancel for any reason, I’ll post it back on Free Republic.
The price on Travelocity is $136 plus tax.
He should give all Freepers a blanket invitation.
Invitations come from your congressman
Seattle needs another pyroclastic flow
I plan to.

I didn’t know that. Thanks
I don’t think my beater would make the trip, or I would go, just in case the left wants to attempt disruption.
My wife very astutely made reservations in a Fredericksburg bed and breakfast for the inauguration. They have train service to DC.
Thinking about combining it with the Pro-Life March on the Monday after inauguration. However, if it looks like a blizzard or a significant snow storm for either event. NO WAY!
Metro is the easiest to use and get around DC.
Besides there are so many interesting tourist attractions in DC.
Thanks
Make your boss pay for you to stay in Trump's hotel in Vegas.
