“and not try to impose their rules upon us.”
But that’s exactly what they want to do. For all the clamor about “rights”, their whole point is to control those that the despise.
Sorry for all you folks who have so many leftists in close proximity. Here in GA, at work and especially at my child’s Catholic school, everyone was elated. The relief and happiness was palpable.
Well you could reply that even in the Communist countries, they had octogenarian leaders, so Donald hasn’t even scratched the surface yet.
Deena Pioli, an attorney from San Francisco, said she had rarely run into people who were not supporting Clinton, and that she now regrets that..."Those of us here in San Francisco and California should not be so safe in our bubble," she said.
I suspect she's right, really right. There were just shy of 60 million votes for Trump, after all. Perhaps a little wider circle of acquaintance is in order here.
"Folks should have deep humility in this moment," said civil rights activist DeRay Mckesson on Twitter. "We all have things to learn from how Trump happened."
I have a humble suggestion myself - stop beating on people and then expecting them to see things your way. The least they'll do is vote against you. They might just get to the shooting point.
Absent from all this navel-gazing analysis is any consideration that the Trump voters might have been voting outside the narrow interests of race, sex, and economic class, rather in the interests of a country they love more than themselves. Sounds crazy, doesn't it?
For some reason I like the article.

I work in downtown Austin, which proved again yesterday that it’s still the blue island in the red sea of Texas. Anyways, the company I work for could be described as ‘somewhat eccentric and modern’ (ie progressive thinking) and as such I’ve had to listen to almost daily morning conversations bashing Trump and predictions of an easy Hillary victory. Got to work this morning (11/9) and this place is like a ghost town. Most of my coworkers have suddenly ‘gotten sick’ or ‘have obligations taking them away from work’. Suuuure they do.
Trump flu
Good!
Leftism, given its head, became exactly that kind of monster. Beat people and then expected them to bow down. As Michael Moore put it... EFFIN’ NO!
The monster became its own nemesis.
Lib women on the train in Chicago were openly crying as they went to work today (though about 3/4 of the libs are calling in sick today!) I can’t stop grinning today walking around and seeing them all downtrodden and dejected.
And for me... it was a Christian point of view. Indeed it does say in the good book, to love others better than oneself. That’s the entire economy of heaven, and we benefit one another that way under the benefit of God. I voted to love America, not because I was so horribly fond of it, but because God desires it.
Don’t be sorry, we probably are having more fun than you just basking in the liberals’ total defeat and dejection :)
“Lib women on the train in Chicago were openly crying “
I would have found it impossible to not ask for a few of their tears to enjoy right in front of them.

I'm in South San Francisco. Lots of American flags on display on my block today (mine included) in celebration after we voted for Trump and won. There are (small) red areas even in the danger zone on the coast. Something else different, no Hillary signs in evidence throughout my neighborhood a couple miles around. Even libs were ashamed of voting for her.
I was able to restrain myself but I couldn’t stop from smiling ear to ear as I watched them, and I’m pretty sure they all noticed.
Excellent! Enjoy it.
what’s a matter you?
gotta no respect?
why you feel so sad?
it’s a not so bad!

I was reading the internet and Connecticut’s Republicans added 7 State House and 3 State Senate Seats, tying the state senate 18-18. Was reading that a conservative Dem might become an independent...to make the R in charge of the State Senate...
“with many struggling to explain the result to their children.”
Well, the explanations wouldn’t have been all that difficult if they hadn’t filled their kids heads completely full of bullshit to start with.
