West Long Branch, NJ - Donald Trump has taken a double digit lead over Hillary Clinton in Missouri, but the Senate race remains up in the air. The Monmouth University Poll also found that the Democratic candidate for governor has lost his early lead in that race and the contest is now tied.

Among Missouri voters likely to cast ballots in November's presidential election, 52% currently support Trump and 38% back Clinton. Another 4% intend to vote for Libertarian Gary Johnson and 2% back the Green Party's Jill Stein. In Monmouth's mid-October poll, Trump had a 5 point lead of 46% to 41%. In August, the race was practically tied at 44% for Trump and 43% for Clinton.

White men prefer the GOP nominee by a 64% to 28% margin, which is similar to his 62% to 26% lead earlier this month. Trump also has a lead among white women of 52% to 39%, a group that was evenly divided at 42% to 42% two weeks ago.

Since when has a 52/38 lead been described as an “edge”? That’s a mountain range.

Not this year.

There's some strong anti-incumbent sentiment across this country, and this puts a lot of Republicans at risk in these races.

Also, Missouri has a bizarre governor's race where the Democrat is a former Republican who has the support of the NRA and sounds more conservative than his opponent. LOL.

I agree with you. I’m just explaining why there seems to be some large gaps between the support for Trump and the support for Republican Senate candidates in some of these tight races.

Note that Trump enjoys a 14% lead while Blunt who is part of Spineless McConnell's "leadership" team is in a dead heat as is the Republican candidate for Missouri governor (a Navy SEAL who probably deserves better).

Trump has closed his case quite successfully. Blunt is a whore for the US Chambers of Crony Commerce. The fellow running for governor should be running away with it but suffers from the crony "capitalist" uber alles image of the GOP. He should campaign HARD for Trump and separate himself from the Chamber and go for the win!

When do we start purging the big business marionettes who make up the overwhelming majority of the “GOP” Senate caucus or do we share power with these whores forever so they can pad their pockets at our expense?

Sorry Missouri, but you’ll have to wait to primary this SOB in 6 years. On 8 November, we need even RINOs in the US Senate.

If he’s up by 14 in Missouri it’s over. Missouri isn’t a perfect indicator but it’s about as close as you’ll get.

Yeah, I think Blunt is a flawed candidate for many reasons, partly because he hasn't really done much since he's been in the Senate.

And Kander comes across pretty good in his commercials, playing up his military service. But the truth is that once in Washington, Kander would be a rubber stamp for the far left Democrat Party. And we have already donated one vote to that miserable cause when McCaskill got lucky when Todd Akin flubbed his Senate campaign.

There are a lot of ads trying to tie Kander to Hillary, but I think it needs to be clear that Kander is tied to the whole Democrat Party.

If Trump really does win MO by near that margin, it’s game over for Hillary.
