While polls show that more Hispanics prefer Hillary over Trump to occupy the White House those Hispanics need to take a close look at what Hillarys party has done for -- and more importantly, to -- Hispanics in the U.S.
The Hispanic population has grown so rapidly that it is difficult to believe that the 1970 Census questionnaire did not include a racial or ethnic category called Hispanic. But this was not because Hispanics did not live in the U.S. in significant numbers. The musical West Side Story from the 1950s featured several Puerto Rican main characters, and cities like New York and Chicago had relatively large Puerto Rican populations, numbering in the hundreds of thousands.
After 1950, with the passage of the Federal Highway Act Americans began to move out of big cities and into suburbs. They were looking for green lawns, cleaner air, and bigger homes. As they moved away from cities, however, city populations began to decline and are still declining. To counteract this decline President Lyndon B. Johnson started the Great Society package of Federal programs. While on paper and in speeches these programs were allegedly designed to lift people out of poverty, the result was to isolate black and later Hispanic persons into highly segregated neighborhoods. While these programs proclaimed to help the disadvantaged and poor, the result was more disadvantaged and more poor.
Chicago, for example, doubled the proportion of its residents who lived in segregated low-income housing from ten to twenty percent from 1960 to 1970. These Federal programs rewarded single mothers with children, leading to a great increase in the number of fatherless children. The school systems of these big cities were all controlled by the huge public sector teacher unions of the Democrat Party.

Blah Blah Blah Blah BLAH.
In 1970 the “hispanic” population in the United States was somewhere south of 2%. In California it was 4%.
THEY WEREN’T HERE.
Some of us REMEMBER. Spanish was something you heard in a high school class, and NOWHERE ELSE.
The “hispanic” ( = Mexican ) vote is NOT important. If Trump gets 70% of the white ethnic American vote (let’s refer to hispanics as white non-ethnic American, since that’s what they agitated for in the 1930’s) then he wins and the Black/Mexican/Asian votes are not important.
So stop with the “why Mexicans should vote Trump” crap and concentrate on the American vote.
EVER.
Mexicans aren’t going to vote for Trump. Good Grief. They want free stuff. Trump will make them work for it.
Unless, Trump can sell them on the idea that they can smash their prosperity ceilings by ceasing to be pets of the gummit.
Huh? If you want Trump to focus on “the ethnic American” vote he’ll spend all his time on Indian reservations. Every other group here came here from somewhere else.
The REAL question is - Why would ANYONE vote for the bitch???
I was getting my hair done this morning and I asked my beautician if she watched the debate on Wednesday. She said she sure did and she would go on Tuesday when she is off to vote in our early voting election and vote for Donald Trump. She said she couldn't understand how anyone could vote for Clinton. I agreed with her and told her that I also will for Trump.
Here in San Antonio, I think Hillary will get every single hispanic vote.
Oh Good. Another “nation of immigrants” peddler.
PS: I’m ethnic American.
Perhaps you aren’t.
Pobrecito.
“If you want Trump to focus on the ethnic American vote hell spend all his time on Indian reservations.”
Many experts say that the Indians got here from Siberia via land bridge.
What’s left then to focus on,coyotes?

My son’s girlfriend is half-mexican and she *hates* Hillary.
Hillary Rotten Clinton believes she is entitled to everything. Like the presidency, the black and the Hispanic votes. Eff her.
The Hispanic people I know are NOT HilLIARy supporters! And I know, and am friends with, a bunch that I have worked with over the years.
Where did your ancestors come from?
America
Lol. Not a history major I’m guessing
You are generalizing about Hispanics beyond what is justified. It’s only anecdotal, but I’ve worked with Hispanics both in the fields and in the city, and my impression was not what you said about them.
