Many of you know that for more than 4 years, I have been one of the leaders of the team representing religious organizations, mostly Catholic (including Bishop David Zubik, Bishop of Pittsburghs Catholic Diocese) in his case which was consolidated in the U.S. Supreme Court with the case brought by The Little Sisters of the Poor and cases brought by others, against the government over Obamacares contraception mandate. A great number of religious groups of all denominations filed friend of the Court briefs supporting our position that while contraception is and could be available to all who choose to use it, government regulators should not force religious objectors (like The Little Sisters or Catholic Charities) to participate in the delivery of goods and services which offend their religious beliefs.
The work I have done in these cases , studying the guarantee of free exercise of religion in the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act , has caused me to read and often to investigate what the Obama administrations views are of traditional Christian religious beliefs, religion, and especially Catholicism. I have also tried to gather as much information as I can about what Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, their running mates and their respective parties think about religion, Catholicism and traditional Christian religions (which the media often mocks as Evangelicals, Bible thumpers or the religious right).

Which, by and large, they don't.
She personally had abortions and never regretted it... that is a weight of evil which rests on her heavily
I don't know about that, but she certainly can wear her share of the 50+ million slaughtered innocents. That's pretty heavy.
What gave you the spiritual X-ray to say that something is not going on privately?
My observation is that most of the modern church is very clumsy-bum about ministry to the homosexual. They will bluffly tell the homosexual to repent but hardly ever can show what that looks like.
Well, they all signed right below it. I guess they believed it enough to put their name to it.
I'll take them at their word.
Washington is full of Christian and Biblical references.
You might also research independently... see for yourself if she’s done that.
The year of our Lord might mean the arrival of a wise advisor, in the eyes of some like Benjamin Franklin.
You sound perilously like you want to lean on a country that found itself in fortuitous circumstances — rather than leaning directly on the Lord.
The "pope".

Sounds like I'm not wrong. But if there are any former disease-ridden child-molesters, I'd like to see some numbers.
Compared to those still practicing the queer "death-style" I'd say it's a drop in the bucket.
I don't care that much, but I wouldn't be surprised.
Great essay. Why in BW? What is it?
Author got lots of pushback in comments.
Author mistaken anout Pence being Catholic. Left RCC for a Protestant denomination.
The pope? What pope, and what did this pope say, and under what circumstances, and what gave him the monopoly on truth?
As for numbers, how about first treating other categories the same way to make the demand even fair. Show me the numbers of drunks! thieves! blasphemers! Etc.! You get the picture.
You speak from bias, not from any access to knowledge.
Well real funny that the Catholic bent is to intense “gotcha” yet when a real problem is pointed out... “I don’t care.”
Well you don’t care because you have not found yourself yet in a position to glorify yourself by making the point, I do suspect.
OH, and you also changed the criterion. Not all homosexuals go for being “disease ridden” or “child molesters” let alone the intersection of those sets.
That is a sign of dishonest discourse.
In the meantime the scripture boldly promises salvation. It sounds like you get some kind of self glory gain over being able to slap a permanent damnation on people with certain histories... but only when it dawns on you that you can.
Whatever.
You sound perilously like you want to lean on a country that found itself in fortuitous circumstances rather than leaning directly on the Lord.
You sound perilously like you want to argue with me over nothing.
That other founding document, The Declaration of Independence, is chock full of religious references. Did something happen between the two writings to change the minds of the framers?
Actually, I don't think they have a Pope at the moment, just a poseur.
what did this pope say
He said Jesus wouldn't kick queers out of Heaven.
what gave him the monopoly on truth?
Do you think that's the truth?

Wow! You wouldn't be an exqueer would you?
Not all, but close enough.
99% of them make the rest look bad.
Obviously you’re right. But how do we know about the saving life of Christ if we don’t believe in the God-breathed Word of Life? Everything we know and believe about the redeeming love of Christ comes from the written word empowered by the Holy Spirit. Any attempt to deviate from the verbal and plenary inspiration of scripture will ultimately result in heresy and unbelief.
I have to agree with you.
“many ostensibly sincere Christians are going to do just that.”
Many self described Christians are working to help elect Clinton.
Many self described conservatives are also working to elect Clinton.
I would argue that these self described Christians are not sincere Christians. I would argue that these self described conservatives are not sincere conservatives.
There are many phony Christians and phony conservatives out there.
