Again, GOP has to keep it close in absentee voting in Iowa as Dems always vote heavier absentee compared to election day. Goal of GOP is to keep it close and overpass them on election day. These are updated running totals of absentee REQUESTS in this election year and 2014 and 2014 elections.

10/11/16: DEM-128,421; GOP-95,888; UAF-57,190

10/06/14: DEM-112,009; GOP-79,955; UAF-47,443

10/09/12: DEM-174,318; GOP-103,171; UAF-77,421

Trending close to 2014 which is favorable. Huge Dem drop-off and significant UAF drop-off and modest GOP drop-off from 2012.

Estimated turnout this year will be 1.5 million Iowans give or take 50 to 100 thousand. We are at about 20% turnout already based on absentee REQUESTS.

Iowa is looking very good compared to 2012.

Florida seems “similar” to 2012.

North Carolina looks a bit worse compared to 2012.

Iowa and Ohio is in the bag. Just need North Carolina, Florida and PA to win! I’m actually very optimistic about PA. I think it will be the big surprise on election day.

Although NC behind 2012 levels, there is no reason to think that on election day blacks will turn out for Cankles. I think that model can be tossed.
