“BTW, if you notice that list, most of the attacks are in canada and alaska. That’s why I was careful to say the ‘continental US”. But to clarify, I really meant lower 48. “

OK. But my link still shows about 30 compared to your 11 cited.

” Apparently black bear attacks are VERY rare (11 deaths in the continental US is 120 years)”

That is liberal horse $hit. 120 deaths in 11 years would be closer to the truth.

“Black bears have killed 61 people across North America since 1900.”
http://www.bear.org/website/bear-pages/black-bear/bears-a-humans/119-how-dangerous-are-black-bears.html

This site lists 61, but my guess is that it is way low.

Liberals fudge the numbers so they can convince other liberals that bears/wolves/cougars/ ect are harmless.

Don’t feed the trolls.

They become dependent on hand outs and no longer able to function in the wild.

I grew up in bear country. The one rule that every one knew and lived by is that bears kill

Grizzlies are dangerous. I did not advocate for their reintroduction into Calufornia.

If you live in critter country you live or die by their rules

hmmm ...

“Bears that visit campgrounds, bird feeders, and garbage cans almost never kill people,”

Apparently this dude (latest black bear fatality) also read your website:

Ward was killed by a bear while he slept near the fire pit at his campsite. His fiancée who slept in a nearby motorhome discovered his partially consumed body the following morning. The bear was later shot and killed by conservation officers.[

Most of them are brown bears and outside the lower 48. ANd I did notice that between 1850 and today it had 25 attacks that lead to death.

Meanwhile in the Daily Bear News ...

“HUMANS CAME OUT OF NOWHERE RELATES A. BEAR”

I was just minding my own business eating berries and searching for grubs, like any self-respecting bear, when suddenly, three members of homo sapiens showed up with odd looking hats and sticks. After I ate one of them, the other two ran away, problem solved. ...

I’m thinking the bear came from somewhere.

It is the wild after all. Hint: Home to bears...

Those Californians should most certainly bring back the grizzly bear. Heck, bring in hundreds of thousands of them.

Yes, for liberals then, it is not important when someone is severely mauled by a black bear as long as they survive. Most bear attacks are by black bears because they are the most common bears. Only Grizzlies hold a corridor in the lower 48 from roughly Glacier National Park on the Canadian border to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.

I hike up in that area often and know a little of the history. As late as 1940 there were Grizzlies and Brown Bears up there - thousands of Black bears too

Bear Spray Failure in Montana (video)
Gun Watch ^ | 4 October, 2016 | Dean Weingarten

Posted on Tue Oct 11 15:30:33 2016 by marktwain

Another documented bear spray failure.  In this case the victim chose to use bear spray instead of the pistol he had with him.  It is an interesting contrast with Kim Woodman, who was also charged by a sow grizzly with cubs.  Kim had a 10 mm pistol, a Glock model 20.  He stopped the charging grizzly at almost contact distance. Kim only had 30 yards to react.  Todd says the grizzly charged him from 80 yards off.
