Why did senior Clinton campaign officials order their dirty tricks team to release the Trump tape this past Friday instead of the Friday before Election Day?

The leak of an old hot mic recording of a private conversation between a TV host and Trump probably was originally scheduled for the Friday before Election Day. But the Wikileaks revelations about Hillary could not be allowed to dominate the weekend pre-debate chatter.
An alternative explanation: The Clinton campaign believes that waiting to release the tape until the Friday before Election Day would be too late. The campaign believes that Trump stands a good chance of winning the remaining two debates, would build tremendous momentum, and would be virtually unstoppable. Releasing the tape so late would also smack of desperation and might be counterproductive, encouraging Trump supporters to turn out in even greater numbers.
The Clinton campaign calculated that releasing the tape a month ahead of time would have several advantages:

The most particularly damning fact is that Hillary Rodham Clinton admitted before a closed audience that a politician need to have TWO FACES in dealing with issues - one private and one public. That says it all.

Ryan is a scum, but the members of congress, like Bruce Poliquin, who elected him over more honest members of congress, are worse and should not be rewarded because they are the lesser of two evils.
Donald Trump does not need Congress for the first two years to do what he has promised to do.
The EPA is a cabinet office as is the department of education and the dept of energy. He can eliminate them and get rid of everything obama has done without ever having to go to Congress.
If the Senate under the leadership that currently exist in either party refuses to ratify his nominee for the SCOTUS, he simply orders the elimination of the three most left wing Republic haters in the Court, just like obama/clinton did with Scallia.
Don’t feel as if you have to reward scum, liars and other despicable obama/clinton worshipers with reelection simply because they claim to be republicans.
It is not till the beginning of his third year that he will need congress and even then I’m not convinced that he does.
Clinton proved during the Waco hearings that a couple of dead congressman is all that is necessary to bring congress under control. Did you really think Congressman Sonny Bono died in a skiing ‘accident’?

Desperation or not, I have a feeling the release will have exactly the "counterproductive" effect described.
If this was the last of their silver bullets....I just don’t think they got much for it.
Across the whole US....people are pretty much set to who they will vote for. There might be two or three million in the “I don’t know” category....but most guys won’t say that this story matters. Women might go either way (knowing Hillary and Bill’s past).
As for the RINO folks....I’d say that they need to be removed from office as soon as possible. Either stand by Democrats to get these RINOs out of office....recall them....or put fresh new and better Republicans up to the task.

I don’t think they were ever on board. I think this gives them an out, so they can act like they were supporting him. They can fake their outrage about Trump, making them look like they care.
They are so scared of someone getting in there, likeTrump, who will find all of the illegal stuff that has been going on for years. It will be an awesome thing to watch, if it does happen. I would love to see those criminals in the gov. go to jail.

The number of SCOTUS justices and the arrangement of lower courts in the federal system are all statutory constructions. The only role allotted to the executive is nomination and appointment.
You have a good point about executive agencies and admin law. Trump can gut that, and put the job of legislating back into Congress's hands.

I think they were in on the coordination because they all had the same talking points so this has been known and coordinated for later.
You know it was last ditch because they would never release it on a 3 day weekend with a major hurricane if they weren’t desperate.
