An epidemic of clown sightings is spreading across America and no one is laughing any more
he first person to spot a clown, the patient zero in the current epidemic of threatening clowns sightings spreading across the US, was a little boy at a low-income apartment complex in Greenville, South Carolina.
He ran to his mother, Donna Arnold, and told her what he had seen: two clowns in the woods, both brightly dressed and made up. One with a red fright wig and the other with a black star painted on his face. They whispered something to the boy.
They were trying to lure him to the house, his mother told me, pointing toward the woods.
A path into the woods led down into a shaded hollow, at the bottom of which was a small pond. Beside it sat a house that seemed abandoned. Someone had boarded up the windows, and the balcony sagged. New bags of potting soil sat near the basement door, though. And a modern security system looked recently installed.
After sunset a car approached the house; a gleaming white, new-model Mercedes that looked as out of place as any clown car. The driver stepped out and said she had recently bought the old house as an investment because it sits on five acres in an otherwise densely populated area. You think it looks bad now, you should have seen it before I came in, she said.
While we talked she wore an in-ear headset, so it wasnt always clear whether she was speaking to me or someone on her phone.
No, she didnt want to give her name, she said.
Yes, she had heard about the clown sightings.
She gestured toward the apartment complex through the trees. Every one of them has a phone, and can

Somewhere Emmett Kelly is spinning in his grave.
I blame the FX Archer series, particularly last season’s ‘Bel Panto’ episodes.
I highly recommend that you watch them. Hilarious.
Did you finish the cotton candy?
I think it had too much clown make up on it, mom threw it away!
Capt. Spaulding
#CLM!
I blame Barnum and Bailey.
Just shoot ‘em in the nose.
You and me both!
The manufacturing company I used to work for in Detroit also had a plastics plant and its HR manager used to be a professional clown with Ringling Brothers.
He had a side business operating a clown school in the area and his wife had a very successful internet business selling clown supplies.
As a side note, the company also used to own your Waupaca Foundry.........
Seems that EVERYONE has owned a piece of Wisconsin at one point or another! Then our stupid, leftist politics/policies scare them away! ;)
Hey don’t you know?....., CLOWN LIVES MATTER
What changed was people like Miss Makayla here donning a clown costume and using the mage to make death threats on the social media.
You want to see Clowns? Just walk around Washington, DC for a while. You will see enough Clowns to make you puke!!
ThyssenKrupp/Budd Company, the one time owners of Waupaca, used to conduct week long motivational conferences in Troy, MI where the headquarters were located. Each session would bring in both salary (me) and management personnel from the different plants they owned then form them into teams in order to compete the entire week.
The week I attended I was teamed with a gal from Waupaca and we had an absolute blast. I still have the 5 foot pocket tape measure with "WAUPACA" emblazoned on the front of it that she brought as small gifts for everyone as well as several other neat things.
Waupaca Foundry was probably the only consistent profit making entity owned by ThyssenKrupp and at the time, they fought tooth and nail against TK's coming in and telling them how to run the business.
Fortunately for them, but not for Budd (my company) TK divested themselves of their ownership of Waupaca and they are still in business..........
Well, Poltergeist, IT, Killer Clowns from Outer Space, Insane Clown Posse, and John Wayne Gacy have kind of ruined them for me.
Are you the one that told me you were terrified of clowns?
I once signed my post as “Twinkie the Clown”, thinking I
was funny. Someone wrote back & said please, please say
you are NOT a clown! I’m not a clown.
Here is my clown story I may have told you, pretty funny not scary. #20
They are not clowns. Wearing clown clothes does not make one a clown.
I just noticed it was on this thread. Sorry.
