Syrian rebels and civilians in the besieged eastern half of Aleppo are bracing for an onslaught ground assault by Syrian regime forces and their Shia fighter allies which could once and for all end the oppositions resistance in the city.
US officials said they were seeing signs that thousands of troops from across the Shia world - including Syrian regime soldiers, Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Hizbollah fighters, Iraqi militiamen and Afghan mercenaries - were massing for a final assault on Aleppo.

So tell me: is this good or bad? They’re all crazy.
Kerry said today he asked for more force to take out Assad. So I am on Assad side.
Oh MY what will Obama do?
Obama should have rebelled against Hillary Clinton three years ago, when she hatch this ill fated plan that has caused so much suffering.(Thank God it is coming to an end.)
It’s all bad. Both sides are run by Islamist psychos. The ones fighting against ISIS aren’t much better than ISIS.
I can’t believe we got ourselves tangled up in this garbage.
Almost sounds like a pincer movement against ISIS.
Aleppo in the west and Mosul in the east...
What a mess Obomba a Hellary wrought.
He’s bombing the bridges in Deir ez-Zor so the million residents trapped there can’t get aid from the Syrian government.
Cool!
IMO Good. Russia and Assad are on the right side. I can hardly believe I am saying that. But they are saving American lives by killing ISIS terrorists. Gee, surprise Democrats want to break relations with Russia over Aleppo but did squat when Putin invaded Crimea.
“So tell me: is this good or bad? Theyre all crazy.”
It’s bad, but less bad than Obama/Clinton/Kerry/McCain bad.
And it might undo ISIS in the long run, which is a good thing, and a thing which will infuriate DC-EU-Riyadh axis of global jihad. That is why Obama’s minions are having fits, even on this forum.
Nevertheless, it is like watching demons fight for the seat farthest from the fire.
Kerry belongs in the seventh plane of hell.
Neither, actually. But if you follow what passes for reasoning in some parts we should cheer the Shia because they are aligned with Assad, who is aligned with Putin, who claims to be anti-homo. Or something like that.
“Kerry said today he asked for more force to take out Assad. So I am on Assad side.”
That just illustrates how f-ed up the whole Syria thing is. So, you’re backing the Iranians and Hezbuallah, the US has told the Kurds to lay low, Turkey, a NATO ally is supplying el-Nusra, or whatever the al-Qaeda guys are calling themselves now, and the Russkies told the US to go away, and we did, but they are cooperating with the Israelis.
Kerry is a war criminal.
