Hillary Clinton did not have a good performance, according to Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, and Donald Trump had the strongest debate performance hes had in this election cycle.
Cruz, who recently endorsed the man who beat him in the Republican primary after months of refusing to do so, embraced his new role as a Trump surrogate in an interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, dinging Clinton as tired and formulaic while praising Trump for drawing strong contrast.

That’s what I was talkin’ about!!
I’m glad CRUZ has broken free of GLEN BECK. He’s getting back to normal again.
Thank you Cruz!
My wife heard Cruz talking to a local show host this morning and said he was very good in getting across the positive aspects of Trumps performance. She said it was effective, as he explained how Trumps approach would tend to appeal to the 20 % of voters who need to be convinced.
Good for him. I was very skeptically but it seems he has made the transition to campaigning for Trump.
Perhaps the Trump Train is on Cruz Control
(Sorry could not resist that awful pun)
Trump or someone needs to call out Hillary and tell her that she needs to apologize to the American people for outright lying ...

Hillary Clinton Praises TPP As Gold Standard In Free Trade Agreements
So much for the NeverTrump crowd. Thank you Senator Cruz!
Good for Ted. BTW the never Trumpets hate him more than Trump now.
Cruz is crusin for a cabinet appointment.
Yes, Glen Beck, the guy who used to have that wacky sense of humor and seemed not to take himself so very seriously, has become so filled with himself that he seems possessed.
It’s great for Cruz and the country that Cruz realizes that this election is more important than he is.
To win Hillary has to paint Trump as more scary then her. All Trump has to do is survive. Based on polling, people expect Hillary to do better in debates and expect the Moderators to be biased in her favor. The expectations are for Hillary to clean Trumps clock. When she fails to do that, she loses.
Clinton is the candidate of the status quo, the vast majority of voters are unhappy with the status quo. She has to do something to change the momentum against Trump. The only think she can do is create an image of scary crazy Trump in voters minds. As long has she fails to do that, she loses.
Hillary and the Moderators are going to have to land punches to stop her polling hemorrhaging and they failed to do so last night.
It appears Ted wants to help, that’s good.
who is this guy? Just kidding. It’s like the Body Snatcher movie and the dude is back to normal. Now the frothing at the mouth idiot Freepers who hate him more than obamatard (that’s a headscratcher) will finally chill out..
Attaboy, Ted. Team, team, team, is what it’s about now. Good going!
I was (and am) a Cruz supporter. I don’t understand why he didn’t start this sooner.
I assume he (like anyone who runs for president) is much more self serving than selflessly patriotic, so I discount the possibility that he was motivated by (misplaced in my opinion) fear of Trump’s effect on the republic.
It wouldn’t make much sense for Cruz to overly concerned about Trump’s locking up the presidency (or the republican nomination) since Cruz is so much younger than Trump.
It doesn’t make sense that Cruz was currying favor with the press or republican establishment. They hate him and always will.
I just don’t understand why he didn’t provide help to Trump earlier.
[The only think she can do is create an image of scary crazy Trump in voters minds.]
The image of “I’m not sick” HILLARY has trickled down to young voters. There’s no way they will vote for her.
Consider Trumps thank you to pro-Hillary Mr. Holt.
Watch: Hillary Clinton shook Lester Holt's hand at the end of the debate. Trump did not. (Might need to scroll down)
Quite a strong compliment from a master debater.
I am pleased that Cruz is on board, I don’t care why. Any help he can provide is welcome, this is too important to let hurt feelings stand in the way (on either side).
If Cruz keeps it up, I may forgive him and help fund his next Senate bid - if he wins the current one w/o my help.....
