The skunk was so willing! Animals are a lot smarter than we give them credit.

Yeah, you’d think the skunk wouldn’t have been so cooperative, but I guess it just figured things couldn’t get much worse and was resigned to pretty much anything. I would be, too, if I had a coke can stuck on my head!

What a lucky little skunk, that someone found him before he got hit or suffocated. Sadly, it is not uncommon for animals to get their heads stuck in a can when looking for food.

It only takes a moment to throw away items in such a way that wildlife is not endangered. I always cut the plastic rings from six packs before I throw them away.

I have a similar experience. My wife and I live next to a cherry orchard. One morning when she was walking in the road that separates our properties, she saw a black and white tail sticking out of a vertical 4" pipe that was used to gain access to a water shut-off valve.

She told me about it. So I went to see for myself. Sure enough, it was a skunk head first in the pipe. He couldn't back out.

Well, I thought I could dig the pipe up and place it somewhat horizontal and the skunk would escape. But the pipe was too deep.

In the meantime the skunk was releasing his liquid in the pipe as well a urinating.

Finally, my wife suggested that I take the valve key and twist it in the skunk's fur and jerk him out. The first try didn't work, but I tried a second time and was successful.

I gave a jerk and before the skunk hit the ground I ran away for about 20 feet. The skunk was wobbly at first. He staggered away and then, for a moment, turned and looked at us. The he shook his tail and skittered away into the orchard.

It’s a good feeling to help one of God’s creatures out. Even a skunk.
:D

I consider skunks to be good people. They eat bugs, only come out at night, and don’t start fights.

Many times in my life as a night mountain biker I have come into contact with them. They are just so adorable!

I have rode up on them suddenly and scared them. Their response time was so darn slow it was easy to abscond before they could aim their butt at me.
