In a move reminiscent of a wild-eyed, 1950s Commie hunt, EcoWatch has published a list of the most dangerous heretics from climate change orthodoxy, including Donald Trump, Congressman Joe Barton (R-TX), and Marc Morano.
For the crime of questioning the science behind current global warming theories, especially regarding human causality and radical proposals of CO2 reduction, EcoWatch writer Michael Mann has branded these freethinking skeptics as “deniers”—in an intentional reference to those who repudiate the Jewish Holocaust.
Gone are the days when intelligent inquiry was lauded as a prized element of serious science. Mann accuses the skeptics of “clouding the climate change debate” with their pesky, unanswered questions and stalling action through “a campaign of deliberate misinformation.”

How does one apply to be included on the list? Does calling climate hoaxers deluded jerks work? How about driving a diesel pickup? Burning leaves? Making fun of Al Gore?

In November 2009, an anonymous whistleblower put over 1000 emails comprising to and from the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia (UEA) on an obscure Russian website. They were subsequently rapidly disseminated around the world.
These emails show a tightly knit cabal of scientists adjusting temperature data to conform to their political agenda; exerting pressure to censor publications going into the “peer reviewed” literature (usually with complete success); bullying journalists with threats of excommunication so that what was published in the mainstream media was in accordance with the global warming agenda; and using the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as the primary vehicle for their political ambitions.
To work through these emails, in order to discover what was going on, is a major undertaking. John Costella has provided us with an edited and annotated account of the emails which enables the lay person, in a relatively short time, to understand what was going on and how it was done.

Put Michael Mann in jail for perpetrating a hoax!
I am not sure how our empirical scientists or even our theorists can be so sure that solar fluctuations are not part of our historical climate artifact picture. The ability to measure solar output in absolute terms has only become possible in modern terms. Complex probes to other planets might eventually be able to discover dateable artifacts that would either reinforce or contradict the thesis of solar fluctuations.

And it’s going to remain that way no matter how many eyes of newt, etc. are hurled into the can.
If I were a scientist I’d be ashamed to be stuck on one thesis with no more proof than any other.

As it is, thousands of eagles are sacrificed to it, eagles that these same lefties would otherwise howl for you to be slammed into jail for harming.
I’d be tempted to say I’m glad that I am free thinking enough to doubt a thesis which has even less support than the ice age panic of a few decades ago.
