Wasserman Schultz Says Al Gore Won Florida in 2000, MSNBC Reporter Agrees
Washington Free Beacon ^ | September 16, 2016 | David Rutz

Posted on 09/18/2016 4:48:08 AM PDT by kevcol

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D., Fla.) denied Friday that George W. Bush won Florida in the 2000 presidential election, saying Al Gore won it and the Supreme Court elected Bush to the presidency.

MSNBC reporter Hallie Jackson did not push back on Schultz’s claim. In fact, she agreed. Bush won the state by an official tally of 537 votes after a prolonged recount period that eventually went to the Supreme Court.
.
.
"The Supreme Court elected the president," Schultz said. "Al Gore won the state of Florida in 2000, although not the presidency."

"Which can also explain some of the odd Buchanan counts: someone doing wholesale ballot punching screwed up on a stack and punched the wrong hole."

That is EXACTLY what happened. The directive was to stack the ballots, and punch a steel rod through the Al Gore slot of every vote. It does nothing to the Gore votes, but invalidates all the Bush votes because both Gore and Bush are punched. Unfortunately, some south Florida liberal dipstick spiked the Pat Buchanan slot, which voided both Gore and Bush votes, and created thousands of Pat B hanging chads in a area where he would have gotten almost no votes. Then the Dems tried to claim the Pat votes were Gore votes because of ballot confusion, the infamous "Butterfly Ballot" argument.

That may apply to Trump as well. So be careful with that statement.

Ever put too many sheets of paper in a 3-hole punch? Same result. Hanging chads.

Gore had it stolen fair and square, until the idiot with the drill they hired punched out all the Buchanan chads (in position 2) instead of the Gore chads as he was supposed to, thus spoiling both Bush and Gore ballots and tipping the count back to a more honest representation of what Palm Beach County really intended.

cbs and the other alphabets called Florida before the polls closed and idiots in the panhandle went home.

Believe me, this time they are going to be calling every East Coast battleground state for Clinton at 3:00 in the afternoon. :)

Hmmmmmmmmm some reporter must have shoved a microphone up her rectum trying to find her head. It’s incredible the extent these reporters will go through to get a statement from a Democrat when they know beyond a doubt it will be a lie.

This entire campaign on the part of the Democrats has been a seemingly never ending Lie-A-Thon.

but they blast Trump for not facing “reality” of Obama being born in usa?

More evidence of Bush winning 2000, than Obama’s birth.

Per Wikipedia :
As Secretary of State for the State of Florida (and co-chair of George W. Bush's election efforts in Florida), Harris was a central figure in the 2000 US presidential election in Florida. The election between Al Gore and George W. Bush was so close in Florida, separated by 537 votes, that a recount of the votes was called for.

After several recounts were inconclusive and the laws governing recounts were unclear, Harris halted the recounting process. She certified that the Republican candidate, then-Texas Governor George W. Bush, had defeated the Democratic candidate, then-Vice President Al Gore, in the popular vote of Florida and thus certified the Republican slate of electors. This victory in Florida allowed Bush to win the election. Her ruling was upheld in the state circuit court, but was subsequently overturned on appeal by the Florida Supreme Court.

The Florida Supreme Court decision was reversed by the U.S. Supreme Court in Bush v. Gore. (2000) In a per curiam decision, by a 7-2 vote, the Court in Bush v. Gore held that the Florida Supreme Court's method for recounting ballots was a violation of the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. By a 5–4 vote, the US Supreme Court held that no alternative method for a recount could be established within the time limits set by the State of Florida.

The decision allowed Harris' previous certification of Bush as the winner of Florida's electoral votes to stand. Florida's 25 electoral votes gave Bush, the Republican candidate, 271 electoral votes, defeating Gore, who ended up with 266 electoral votes (with one D.C. elector abstaining).

It is hardly as if the Democrats had a leg to stand on when accusing the Republicans of chicanery in FL 2000; Democrats have a history of counting ballots until they get a count that they like - then firmly stopping the counting. They did that, in an excruciatingly close House race. I’m pretty sure it was Leon Panetta who was in charge of the committee - back before 1994, thus controlled by Democrats - who did that.

The reality of FL 2000 was that the Democrats did not win under the law of FL. That law stipulated that recounts were time limited. That law was justifiable exactly to prevent people from playing the “If we count long enough I know we can wring a victory out of these ballots” game that the Democrats initiated in FL 2000.

What DWS doesn’t say, nor will ManBearPig admit, is if he had only won his *home state* he would have been president.
That is not true. His problem was that his home state was not Tennessee, as he claimed, but Washington, DC.

Yes, you are correct. But there WERE statewide recounts after the Supreme Court stepped in and finished the debate.

I seem to remember at least TWO recounts by media organizations—not just of the Democrat leaning counties, but of every county.

And Bush WON the state.

We went to our state Capitol mall and marched with our
signs. Other Freepers went to the Vice-President’s
house & marched with signs telling Gore to git out of
Cheney’s house. We organized after a fashion on FR. -
It was so funny. The Freeper with the big Smiley Face
sticker on his shirt made it sort of hard for the Dems
to cast them as a “rioting mob”. :o)

(GORE was “supposed” to become just another Clinton term
with the Clintons calling the shots. It was to become a
“Clinton Dynasty” - with two terms for Bill, two for Gore,
two for Hillary. Now, I suppose Chelsea’s in the plan and
after her, Hillary’s grandchildren.)

I pray that the Lord stops those Clintons. I know that
there is no perfect mortal person able to govern; but
there ARE some better than the CLINTONS!

Little Debbie’s regret: “If we just could have kept the Republicans locked out of the counting room for 10 more minutes...”
And who were those "republicans?"

Many were members of Free Republic.

They observed law breaking consisting of punching "chads" for Gore and putting Bush votes in Gore's totals.

They were called an "angry mob"
