NEW YORK (AP) — Donald Trump’s renouncement of birtherism came with some media gamesmanship that compelled television news networks to air 20 minutes of endorsements by retired military men before the candidate briefly got to the point.
“We all got Rick-rolled,” said CNN’s Jake Tapper, a reference to the Internet prank of replacing an expected link with a video of singer Rick Astley’s 1987 hit, “Never Gonna Give You Up.”
The bad blood continued after the Friday morning event when the Trump campaign barred text reporters and a television producer from joining him on a tour of the new Trump International Hotel in Washington. In response, cable and broadcast networks refused to use any video of the tour.

I’d say the media will get even, but they already hate Trump and do everything possible to harm his candidacy so I guess it really doesn’t matter how they feel.
They can’t stand a candidate, especially a Republican, who doesn’t play by their (rigged) rules. The others in the past (Romney, McCain) would drop their shorts, get paddled, and ask the press if they could have another.
Not this guy. And they are hysterical.
Bait and switch means that one thing was promised and another delivered.
Trump dangled his denunciation of birtherism in their face and delivered it, just not in a self-humiliating manner as the media had hoped for.
He delivered exactly what was promised, and nothing more.
Trump never renounced “birtherism”.
He simply stated that Obama was born here, agreeing with the internet image Obama was forced by Trump to produce.
No one has ever examined any document.
Obama is not a natural born citizen according to that image.
He claims a foreign national father.
It does not matter where he was born if he is claiming a foreign national father. He is not a natural born citizen.
I knew this country was gone when the simple three word phrase, natural born citizen, was no longer understood by its clear meaning, born here of citizen parents.
Solely a US citizen with no possibilty of being anyting else.
No foreign birth
No foreign parent(s)
No foreign citizenship(s)
No foreign influence on the Presidency, the reason stated by John Jay in his letter to George Washington insisting on natural born citizen, not just citizen or native born citizen.
Mr. Trump didn’t bait-and-switch on anything he ajhas ever said. The journos baited themselves and their switch short circuited when Trump repeat what he had said when the mythical Birth Certificate was released. He had demanded that Hussein release his BC and settle the question. When the half-assed PhotoShop construct that was presented as the Real Birth Certificate was put up he said okay, there it is. It is settled. Mr. Trump knew back then that the BC was a dead end and wanted to change the subject. The left and its journalists have selective and creative memories and that trips them up, not often enough, but occasionally.
Media need some cheese with their whine.

They have gotten the American people to reject one of the most valuable safeguards bequeathed to us by the founders.
The natural born citizen clause served us well until we ignored it.
Barry Soetoro/Barack Hussein Obama should be proof enough of the wisdom of the founders when they tried to prevent him from being President by requiring someone who could only be a US citizen and nothing else.
Born here of citizen parents.
Naturally a US citizen because there is no other possibility.
One cannot be anything else and also be a natural born citizen.
Obama even told us on his website he was born a British subject.
Who believes Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Jay, Monroe, Madison, etc. would have found him to be a natural born citizen?
Bad blood with the media? This was the starting condition as the media is in the tank with Clinton. Good to see them so hilariously embarrassed. Good to see a candidate not afraid of their shadow, unwilling to cross the media.
Then, he sets the hook and brings them in with the fly hooked in their gaping/stupid lips flopping around in full view of the tv cameras.
After landing them for the world to see them with his hook in their gaping/bleeding mouth, he rips his hook out of their lips and lets them go! They go flopping away leaving a blood and scum trail in their home water. Think of Jeb during the primaries.
He does this without paying a nickel for tv ads. Then he gets great free PR!
