FBI Director James Comey refused to appear before the House Oversight Committee on Monday despite receiving an invitation to testify about the bureau's reluctance to disclose thousands of pages of evidence compiled in its year-long investigation of Hillary Clinton's private email use.
Rep. Elijah Cummings, the committee's top Democrat, said Comey had declined to appear at the hearing because he had "already bent over backwards" to explain the FBI's decision-making in the Clinton email case.
But Rep. Jason Chaffetz, chairman of the Oversight Committee, disputed the suggestion that he had even invited Comey, noting he had discussed specific points of concern in a personal phone call with the FBI director but had not issued a subpoena for Comey's presence at the hearing.

Interesting. Chaffetz seems like a gutsy guy from what I’ve seen, and I am not very knowledgeable.
These fools need to understand who they are supposed to answer to.
I am sick to death of so-called Republicans/conservatives vouching for this guy in ANY way. Just heard another one, “Well, I have respect for Comey, but I don’t know what he was thinking/what got into him.”
“Well, I have great respect for O.J. Simpson, I just don’t know what got into him.”

He did what bammy told him to, and now he wants to get away from it all. Who is going to prosecute this guy?
That’s my thought. Why not subpoena him?
