I hope people on this thread make some educated comments becaucse that’s all I can say. I want some commentary on this!
Standard procedure with Congressional Committee Chairmen is that they issue “invitations” to administration officials. They try to avoid subpoenas to maintain an air (illusion?) of collegiality and professional cooperation.
BUT if Comey is refusing to come, issue a damned subpoena and haul his ass before the committee! Then put him under oath!!
Citizens are not allowed to lie to federal officials, and the FBI Director sure as heck ought to answer in full, truthfully, to Congress!!
Problem is, if it were to go all the way to impeachment, the ‘Rats can always block it. So Comey knows that the power of the Repubs. is strictly limited, mostly to bluster and publicity.
