When I was a kid we made an inductive setup.
Strung wire all around the outside of the house and you could broadcast to the receiver anywhere within the house.
Also sent morse to a buddy by burying two ground rods in the earth and sending 700hz square waves from my house to his about 100ft away...he could hear it by connecting high-impedance headphones to his ground rods.
If she is using inductive comms it would be child’s play to mess with it :-) A small plastic enclosure with a few 555 timers sending square waves at audio frequencies to a wire wrapped around your body under your clothes.... what a HOOT it would be [grin] you could use a micro-controller and send morse code..lol
