As reports of police overreach and brutality in the black community become more and more commonplace in mainstream news, many black people are feeling a strange combination of frustration and relief relief because the shootings of unarmed citizens have become part of a national discussion, but frustration because, time and time again, we hear the same dismissive and deflective responses from white America:
There must be more to the story.
If you people would just do what youre told.
Cops have a hard job.

Black people, it is long past time for us to start practicing self-care. And if that means completely disengaging with white America altogether, then so be it.
Sound great to me. This is why so called discussions about race are BS. It is more about whitey being lectured to. No thanks.
Does that include not taking our money?
They’re already segregated. And doing lousy.
“Does that include not taking our money?”
Hey, liberal white guilters came up with this sh*t. Take THEIR money, not for the rest of us sane crackers..
Thanks to the Democratic party and MSM outlets like BeZero’s WaPo!
This is just stupid, they live in places run by black people, they hire black people to run the police departments and every other social service. Why are they complaining that white people are at fault?
Agreed.
Regardless of race or household income, illegitimate children have three times the rate of becoming an addict, mentally ill, dropping out of school, getting arrested. This is true of poor whites, blacks and Asians.
The racial disparity is in family formation. 1/4 of whites are illegitimate, while 3/4 of blacks are.
When three times as many children lack married parents, the rate of crime is three times higher. Actually higher, because they lack married uncles and grandfathers to help keep the potential heathens in line.
IOW - as the media increases the reporting of a false narrative ...
When a black person’s life is not to his liking, it’s easier to just say “racism is keeping me down” than to actually work at doing something to improve himself.
>Its time to stop talking about racism with white people
Does that mean integrating with society? No longer trying to be an isolated “oppressed group” requesting preferential treatment, but being like most of society. No longer seeing “racism” EVERYWHERE, but seeing that a vast majority of society is fair to everyone and a few jerks are jerks to everyone and an extremely small set of jerks are racist (and sexist, and whatever you want to find). It’s worked well for many black individuals who’ve tried as well as other groups.
I know it’s difficult with people like Sharpton and inner city gang leaders coming down hard on those who try to integrate but it’ll be worth it.
Zack Linly: No doubt another parasite, much of whose work is likely funded by guilt-ridden whites whom he holds in utter contempt. Disgusting fools, all.
Exactly, yet this is the message that Jesse and Al always sell to the public. Sorry, Pal, but you have a problem that begins in the black community and until we see you addressing your problems, why should the taxpayer thrown more money at you after the trillions you've already wasted.
Where to start? How about the disintegration of the black family? 72% of black children have no father present and that's a huge disadvantage. It takes no brains to be a father, but it's damn hard to be a parent. Black males are good at the former and very scarce at the latter. Why not start working on that?
If you people would just do what youre told. Well, yeah. In all of the (ahem) professional interactions I've had with cops, I was polite and civil. I'm still drawing breath. If there's a difference of opinion, the time to air it out is not on the side of the road, at 2am, with a well-trained, heavily-armed man, who has no idea who you are or what to expect from you.
Cops have a hard job. ....Well, yeah. I'd not want to deal with the worst parts of humanity, all at their very worst, every week, week in and week out. Try needing to deal in a professional manner with someone you know is a child molester, or a parent who beat their own 2-year-old to death. Heck, just deal on a daily basis with groups of people who frankly would be perfectly content with seeing you dead. You know it, they know it, but you still need to treat them as professionally as everyone else.
But, the author doesn't want an argument, he wants agreement. So I suppose that I shouldn't bother.
It’s difficult to take the BLM movement too seriously when in the two events that served as the impetus to start the organization, the two black males involved set the events in motion, then escalated the events into situations where Zimmerman and the police officer were justified in using deadly force to defend themselves.
If they plan to create an uproar every time a black person is shot in a confrontation with the police, then it will go on forever with 80,000 law enforcement jurisdictions and 800,000 law enforcement officers around the US. Something will happen every few weeks as a simple matter of probability.
All that can really be done is to look at each case individually.
I agree. Listening to a lot of under-achieving members of a criminal class does not interest me in the least.
Good. Shut up.
