I agree. My Ttump needs to do a TON more advertising ( plus be organizing a really serious on- the- ground campaign and Election Day organization). Now is not the time to be stingy with trying to WIN. People are deciding now. Many states will begin early voting soon, too

"Heard the same thing about no signs with Obama."

How very odd. In both of the last 2 elections I saw thousands of yard signs and bumper stickers for O'Bunghole. Do you live in Canada? That would explain why you didn't have any O'Bungwad signs around you.

Actually, yard signs can be an indicator of voter enthusiasm... kind of like crowd sizes at rallies. And the same phenomenon holds true this year for yard signs, bumper stickers and rally sizes...

...no Clinton yard signs, no Clinton bumper stickers, and Hillary unable to fill a high school gym with 500 people. Meanwhile, Trump signs and bumper stickers are everywhere, and he draws between 10,000 and 30,000 to every rally.

When this same turnout happens on election day and Trump wins in a historic landslide, you needn't bother admitting your error to me. I already know you're screwed.

;^)

Wow, that’s pretty close. You’re right, if Kelli had had $2-3m in ads, it would have been a very close race.

Were I DJT, I wouldn't waste any more of my money on TV advertising with carpet bombing by commercials, at least until the two weeks before the election.

I agree.

His waiting is sure causing a lot of heart palpations here on FR though.

Hehe.

The ratios between what Hillary spends on ads vs. Trump’s spending are almost meaningless. Because Hillary spends most of her time hanging upside down in a cave, she needs lots of ads.

Trump, on the other hand, gets millions of dollars worth of free advertising by just going out there and talking to people/having events. How much money would it take to get the amount of exposure DJT has gotten in the last few days (Mexico, Detroit, etc.)?

During m bike rides... even in the ‘hood, I don’t see any Hillary signs and they had Obama signs up in 08 and 12...

I think we're going to see a different strategy -- nothing Trump does is orthodox.

He'll blitz the airwaves during the last month, mercilessly savaging The Hag. The Media will be totally on the defensive and off-guard.

“I think we’re going to see a different strategy — nothing Trump does is orthodox.”

The good news is that if we can’t figure out his strategy, neither can the enemy!

fyi......

Next Week, history will be made.

The Hokies of Virginia Tech are coming to Bristol to take on the Volunteers of Tennessee at the Bristol Speedway. The stadium is the largest in the world seating it is believed 160, 000 football fans. The racetrack infield has been transformed into a gridiron by an army of contractors racing at breakneck speed to meet the short interval between the August Race and the September game.

It is being billed as the game of the age, a spectacle beyond spectacles. It transcends a mere election of the century and pits fans here beyond their mere cross border rivalry and in local engineer laden business and industry.

The revenue for this spectacle is uncountable. All the racefan supporting hotels and eateries in the Tri Cities will be at capacity

True! Un-predictability. Trump’s secret weapon. The Dems have feared The Wild Card.

It's certainly possible that Trump could win the popular and Secretary Amnesia could win the Electoral.

It's also possible that a 1-1 tie (split popular/electoral or obvious gap between actual votes and counted votes) will be decided by a nationwide civil war. I'm hoping for a clean Trump victory larger than the level of fraud democrats are capable of creating. We are closer to civil war than at any time in the past 150 years, but I hope we will be able to avoid that disaster - without accepting an even worse outcome.

160,000 screaming football fans.
Wish I had the beer concessions!!

Bristol Speedway.
Seems an odd choice.
I would think the track would keep the fans too far away from the on field action.
Is Bristol still on the NASCAR circuit?

Well, you seem to be right, at least about being far away from the field.

I don’t know yet how many fans will show up. They are sure hyping it up how ever
In someways the game seems not so important as being there.

BIR is still on the NASCAR circuit and is the largest of the tracks so far a seating is concerned. People come in campers literally by the thousands of RV’s and stay several days. It’s what they do.

I had to wait till after it is all over to have my RV van worked on because they get so many calls during race week they can’t get it all done.

The last few years before he died my dad got into NASCAR big time.
There were several people who would go and spend DAYS camped at the site.

I never got into it but he loved it.
Gave him something to do other than look at four walls and bitch about the weather.
Like you said, it was about “being there” rather than the actual race.

There are huge differences in the primary electorate compared to the general electorate.

Granted, ads don't work in the primaries other than to shave a point or two.

In the general they could mean +/- 5%. And THAT matters.

We're dealing with a completely different class of idiot in the general.

Do you have any data for the impact of ads in the general or is that just a feeling?

I just did my own quick research. Almost every study from 2008 and 2012 showed political ads had very little impact on the actual results of the election. One study said a 1000 to 1 ad advantage was required for a .5 shift in the actual vote, but that the impact of ads last less than a week. Ads are most useful for getting the name of an unknown candidate out into the public. If there is one thing that is certain in this election, neither Hillary nor Trump are unknown.
