Full: Donald Trump Meets With Mexico President Enrique Pena Nieto Before Major Immigration Speech

Actual Words said by Mexican President Nieto with Donald Trump at his side:

"As to border issues, my vision is very clear. The border must be transformed into an asset for our region..

We must fast track these efforts so that the border between US and Mexico might become more efficient and safer. An important number of Americans see the border as a great problem because undocumented persons and illegal drugs cross into the US.

There is still a joint challenge, including the increasing number of non-Mexicans that cross through our country in order to reach the US, therein creating serious human crises.

However, this is a vision that is clearly incomplete of the true border issues, because it does not take into account the illegal influx of weapons and money every year. Thousands of weapons and millions of dollars come into Mexico illegally from the North strengthening drug cartels and other criminal organizations that generate violence in Mexico and that obtain profit from the sale in the United States.

This flow must be stopped.

What we need is an integral approach as to the border that might address the issue of undocumented traffic and flow of illegal drugs and cash money. Many lives may be saved on both sides of the border.

Illegal flow of weapons, drugs, cash money in both directions has multiple negative consequences on both sides of border. Our border must be viewed as a joint opportunity.

Both countries must invest more in it. More in (the wall) infrastructure, More people, More technology, in order to make it more secure." -Mexican President Nieto, Mexico City, August 31 with Donald Trump

Mexico has its own HUGE wall with tons of guards...SOUTH of their border to keep out the illegals from central America who will work for even less than the Mexicans.

As for the Mexico-U.S. border, the Mexican government hands out leaflets on HOW TO CROSS THE U.S.-MEXICO BORDER. They've been doing that for decades.

Both legal and illegals here in the USA send some US$14 billion home every year. Mexico WANTS their people to continue working in the USA. MOST don't ever, ever want to become U.S. citizens anyway...they love their country. It's a win-win for Mexico.

¡ARRIBA!

A lot of “La Raza” type Mexicans are hopping mad that the Mexican President was so cordial and at times fully in synch with The Donald. They cannot believe the words that came out of Pena Nieto’s mouth. “What did Trump do, hypnotize you?”

As long as Mexico is paying, let’s make it about 20 feet wide in places with amenities for Border Patrol agents doing the heavy lifting, like fire stations: beds, places for them to crash and stay sharp, weight equipment, kitchens, TVs, firing ranges, etc.

They have earned it over the last 30 years of Wash DC breaking their balls.

It’s infrastructure. How could it be wrong?

Hillary wants to spend a trillion dollars on infrastructure. I a sure no one will miss a measly $10 billion.

He didn't agree with Trump, this is basically a my way or the highway proposition by Trump. For far too long, America has had a Kick-Me sign on the back of its back. Countries taking our foreign aid, then demanding we take care of their illegals. Trump is putting the kibosh to all of this, so this is simply the Mexican President having a come-to-Jesus moment.

Well, it lied about Brown, but your version of that transcript isn’t accurate.

> “Our border must be viewed as a joint opportunity. Both countries must invest more in it. More in (the wall) infrastructure, More people, More technology, in order to make it more secure [your transcript left out ‘and efficient’].”

The Mexican president did not say “the wall”, as that transcript shows in parentheses. Also “Invest in the Wall : an Asset to both Countries”, shown in quotation marks, is not a quotation. He did say “infrastructure”, but that could mean more guard stations, more roads along the border for guards to use, or other things like that, or even structures designed to make the area more “efficient” rather than more secure. If a president of Mexico were going to support building the wall — a major decision — he wouldn’t announce it in a parenthetical remark.

Here are Prieto’s original words starting in the YouTube video at 9:31. “Nuestra frontera debe ser vista como una oportunidad conjunta. Ambos países debemos investir más en ella, más infraestructura, más gente y más tecnología para hacerla más segura y eficiente.”

Trump has a point there.

Mexico will have a lot less problem with Central Americans trying to traipse uninvited across Mexico, if the reason for them to do so is eliminated.

Also Mexico should realize that telling its own people to just leave Mexico (which it has been doing) sends a terribly wrong message. Who else says that to their own natives? It’s crazy!

Trump has always said the Wall will have Doors. What they do at the Doors is up to negotiation.
