DUBLIN, Aug 29 (Reuters) - The European Commission will rule against Ireland's tax dealings with Apple on Tuesday, two source familiar with the decision told Reuters, one of whom said Dublin would be told to recoup over 1 billion euros in back taxes.
The Commission declined to comment on Monday.
The European Commission accused Ireland in 2014 of dodging international tax rules by letting Apple shelter profits worth tens of billions of dollars from tax collectors in return for maintaining jobs. Apple and Ireland rejected the accusation and have both said they will appeal any adverse ruling.
The source said the Commission will recommend a figure in back taxes that it expects to be collected but it will be up to Irish authorities to calculate exactly what is owed. (Reporting by Padraic Halpin; editing)
Wow. The liberal Apple CEO likes the protect 10s of billions from taxation but is all for an increase on the middle class here, I’m sure.

The European Taxes have nothing to do with the taxes Apple paid here, DP. Apple's US effective corporate tax rate last year was over 27%, among the highest of all corporations. In 2012, Apple paid more corporate US Income Taxes than any other business in the US. That year, Apple paid $1 out of every $40 of US Corporate Income Taxes. Otherwise, nice try.
Maybe it’s time for Apple to come home. And make America great again.
What, is the EU short on cash?
Doubt it. Socmany companies are doing it to save taxes. It is legal. I see no problem with it and the law allows them to structure this way. It is a patriotic duty to pay only what you absolutely must, and no more. If you can use the law to help you have not broken the law.
I know that isnt what libs think but i dont do pretzel logic.
Sutton’s law
The law is named after the bank robber Willie Sutton, who reputedly replied to a reporter’s inquiry as to why he robbed banks by saying “because that’s where the money is.”

nice try at what? You get jollies trying to make people look silly? There’s a name for that. maybe you especially like the new CEO. Have a good one
and all that matters is what’s legal. That was sarcasm.
Nice try at imputing motives to people when you don't know their opinions on that subject. . . for example, mine. Apple's CEO has testified before the US Senate for lower corporate taxes in the US. Just because he is liberal in some areas doesn't mean he is in others. He may be, but you don't know. You have a good one, too.
Apple has been saying they want to bring their funds home for some time. To do so though would mean paying a 35% tax on top of the taxes they've already paid.
No level of taxation is sufficiently great for socialism supporting companies. I would prefer that they get crushed out of business.
Repeal the Hollywood Tax cuts!
Apple is home. Here in the USA. Because of all the anti-Apple detractors, they might be better off relocating to South Korea. Then they would be loved like Samsung who sends their profits to South Korea. Just think how un-great America would be without Apple home-based in the USA.
Yup. One reason for Brexit was that the United Kingdom got screwed over by the rest of the Euro Union. For example, their docks were decimated because the Euros gave traditionally British fishing areas to other Euro nations, and wouldn't allow Brits to fish in their areas. And so on. Like liberals everywhere, they stole from the United Kingdom and gave to the other Euro nations. That is exactly what is going on here, they're going after the Irish gold.
Is Irexit on the horizon?
And pay 27% corporate income tax.... There is a reason Apple (and other companies) keep their $$$ elsewhere...
