“he was traveling to Montana to begin filming a pilot episode of a new documentary-style show about the recovery of plane wrecks.”
a bit ironic.
Sheesh! YOU AIN’T KIDDING!
Here’s more on the crash
Some people shouldn't fly, they panic to easy
So sad. A lot of successful people from all walks of life have perished this way.
Aviation is an inherently hazardous act.
Takeoff is optional. Landing is mandatory.
“A statement on Ward’s Facebook page said he was traveling to Montana to begin filming a pilot episode of a new documentary-style show about the recovery of plane wrecks.”
Some guys take Method Acting a bit too seriously.
I have always hated flying. My husband even bought a plane and got his license. I went up with him once and that was enough! Eventually sold the plane because I would not get in it.
Here is a scary story that really happened. The pilot who trained him was taking off with a new student, first lesson. . They were taxing down the runway when the instructor had a heart attack and died in the cockpit.
“Takeoff is optional. Landing is mandatory.”
Just ask Ted Stevens and JFK, Jr.
He seemed like a pretty decent guy on the show. RIP Darrell.
A new owner of the plane was flying. I see in the photos that there is a mountain behind them. I wonder if wind coming off the mountain played a roll.
I have flown a plane. Granted the weather was perfect.
Landing is just controlled crashing basically.
But weather is another level altogether.
Small planes are inherently dangerous... RIP.
But take-off is more dangerous since you are probably about out of usable runway and have little altitude to work with if something goes gunnybag on you.
Nothing puts a smile on your face like a perfect landing!
I fly a lot. I live in eastern Alabama but always fly out of Atlanta’s Hartsfield airport.
As I drive up I-85, getting closer and closer to Atlanta, I see things that make me understand that this—driving—is the most dangerous part of my journey.
I sigh with relief when I finally get on board, having actually made it onto the plane!
I understand that this is true but I am more relaxed when I am in control.
You call that a story?
That's clearly the first half of a story.
You charging for the final half, Hillary?
Don’t call me Hillary.
Figure it out when the instructor passed out and died. He stopped pushing on the go switch or whatever you call it and plane rolled to a stop.
It happened a few years ago at the Brazoria County Airport in a Brazoria County Texas. Look it up.
