Gingich is the enemy of Conservatism.
He short circuits our efforts as often as Bill Kristol does.
The problem with presentations where he gets it right, it gives him stature to stab you in the back with.
He did that just a couple of days ago.
This man should not be trying to help. He hasn’t a freaking clue when it comes to politics. Either that or he short circuits us on purpose.
So far his presentation to the media is world class. If Newt becomes a liability Trump knows how to deal with it but so far he is doing a great job.
And who is “arch friend” conservatism if Gingrich is the arch enemy?

The other day he said Hillary’s health was not a problem.
Anyone beginning to take notice of it, was right then assured “BY A CONSERVATIVE” that it wasn’t an issue. Hense, immediate dismissal.
He does this type of thing over and over again. He short circuits and issue, and give the other team a boost.
He might just as well have said, “Folks shouldn’t talk like that, we have nothing to fear from a Clinton administration.

Unless your “no he is not” means that Gingrich is both conservatism’s arch enemy and arch friend?
Understand that Newt said the right answer. Hillary’s health is not an issue. There Trump’s hands are clean. However as more and more people talk about it and it becomes the elephant in the room just like her butt then Trump or his representatives can talk about it. It is happening, just let it happen and have clean hands.
I’m not going to make a list of one or more people who I think are solid.
Gingrich is the issue here, and I’ve explained how he hurts us over and over again.
All it takes is half a dozen or so people like this, to short-circut any issue that comes up.
Dole, Lott, Ryan, McConnell, McCain, Krystol, Krauthammer, Will, they have all taken turns at destroying our leverage against the Left.
Newt is in that group. It gives me no great pleasure to say it, but I’ve seen him do it half a dozen times at critical points along the way. I do not trust him.
He is an inside player, that screws us from within.

People know who Newt is. They think of him as ultra-Conservative.
When he makes a comment dismissing an issue, they think this. He is a consummate Conservative. If he thinks this issue is a non-issue, then I’ll believe him. After all, he is the enemy.
Conservatives think he represents them, so they do the same thing. Newt is solid. If he says that, being a Conservative, then that puts the issue to bed for me. “There’s nothing to it...”

I’m guessing that Ted Cruz is at the head of your list of ‘solid’.

I, too, am very wary of Gingrich. Because of stuff he has said and done in the past, liken him to McCain, in some respects, but smarter. Still, Trump can gain from his knowledge and point of view. If Gingrich is an “enemy,” I think it’s good for Trump to keep him close.
But you see, when you have a guy like Newt, keeping him close simply gives him more credence when he stabs you in the back. It causes folks to trust him.
You can see it here. Folks use every excuse in the book to defend him doing what he does that hurts us. “Oh, Newt is really good for us. Why he...” Bla bla bla bla...
He’s a backstabber.
