[history]
The race between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton continues to tighten as it moves further from the conventions, but both candidates are still struggling to close the deal.
Trump has been steadily losing ground since mid-July when his support peaked at 44%, while this is the second week in a row that Clinton's support has fallen from an identical 44% just after the Democratic National Convention. Clinton held a 43% to 40% edge over Trump last week.

The internals of this poll make no sense in any level but a few takeaways here. 1) This is 3rd poll in 2 days showing the race as a statistical tie - Zogby, USC, Rasmussen. 2) Most of Johnson's support is the current Trump protest vote meaning Trump has more upside as the race moves on 3) He still has a sizeable lead amongst Independents. 4) 41% for Hillary is really bad.

Dear Johnson voters,
If you truly love Liberty, then you can not let Hillary get back into the White House.
Sincerely,
Ben

One can only imagine what the polls would be like with a media that is interested only in telling the truth.

Meanwhile that die hard Levin last night over the five minutes I was forced to listen to him while in someone else’s car continued to blast trump for not voicing commentary that he understands the constitution. Last nights diatribe concerned voters not having to show proof of identity to vote. I guess he feels that Clinton is the better candidate who understands the constitution since he does not seem to grasp the fact the nomination is over....even if he has to pick between two he hates, hopefully clinton more. Hannity yesterday said even Mark Belling, a severe anti trump guy, and a jerk of the first order with a microphone, admitted he was supporting Trump over Clinton because there really is no choice for him between the two.

I'd put it much larger just based on the turn outs at the rallys. Hillary rallys....crickets. Trump rallys...overflowing . I am starting to feel that HiLIARry won't even make it to the finals as she is looking even more frail that Bill. Much much more to happen yet in this the craziest of all elections in my short 80 plus years.(Yes, I was around for "DEWEY WINS!") Obama just signed an exec order paving the way for his Third term. Stay tuned.

Exactly. A 3 way debate will give Hillary cover.
To: usafa92
Stein is taking from HRC. I thought most analyses had Johnson taking more votes from it than Trump.

National polls as such aren’t the true indication of the next Presidential winner. This election
will be determined in few swing states. Those states could include Virginia, Colorado, Iowa,
New Hampshire, Florida, Nevada, and Ohio, possibly others. It will become more clear in a few weeks.
