The SCREWTAPE Memo Leaked: Inside the Dem Strategy to stop Trump
Inside the bowels of the DNC | 6/15/2016 . . . or thereabouts | SCRWETAPE

MEMO

FROM: SCREWTAPE @DNC

TO: membership, neverTrump mailing list, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox, Washington Post, New York Times, and any other media outlets we have neglected to mention here.

SUBJECT: Stopping Trump

First we want to welcome the group known as the “NeverTrumpers.” You are doing a superb job of feigning conservatism on social media sites and in formerly reputable journals. We especially applaud your efforts to cite “conservative principles” as to why you cannot/will not support Donald Trump. It’s always good to know the “secret handshake,” isn’t it? Of course, when we are successful at electing Hillary Clinton, you can resume your positions as titular “voices” of the “opposition”—just so long as you remember who enabled you to be those voices in the first place.

Now, on to business. I don’t have to remind any of you that Donald J. Trump poses the most significant threat to both our parties, and to our very incomes and lives, of any candidate in history, including Ronald Reagan. His dis-attachment from the traditional Republican Party apparatus, his independent wealth, and especially the power with large numbers of people constitutes a danger that is intolerable. He must be stopped.

Let me review our strategy to this point. In late 2015, none of us took him seriously. We all thought that either Marco Rubio, John Kasich, or Jeb Bush would be the eventual nominee, and that the rank-and-file whackos who make up the Republican primary voting block would eventually be overwhelmed by negative advertising, clever deals (tip of the hat to Senator Ted Cruz and Governor John Kasich for trying, at the last moment, their tag team—alas, too little, too late). None of us thought Trump could begin to organize at the state level, much less be disciplined enough to win a couple of states, let alone most of them. Obviously our advisors were wrong, possibly because we in the Democrat Party were too busy silencing and buying off our own whack job, Bernie Sanders. (We love ya, Bern. Now go away.)

But we all know what happened. Despite a few hiccups (thank you again, Sen. Cruz, and it was very clever how you rigged Colorado!), Trump proved more resourceful than we thought. None of the normal slime tricks, ably taught us by James Carville and the Bimbo Eruption Brigade seemed to work on him. Trump actually seemed to get stronger.

His primary vote of 13 million (and total all time high GOP primary turnout of 30 million) is, of course, terrifying. We all know what the numbers are if just each of those GOP primary voters brings just one other person to the polls: We are already sitting at Trump getting 60 million voters without even touching Democrat defectors (those damn Sanders people again), Jill Stein/Gary Johnson types, or the pesky “independents.” If, as most polls show, Trump wins the independents by 10 points, that’s the election right there.

So how do we stop him? The following is our blueprint right up to the election, understanding that our own candidate is, well, “challenged” on a number of fronts. (To say that she is uninspiring is and understatement. Day-old pizza elicits more enthusiasm. We cannot rely on Mrs. Clinton to win this. Therefore:

1) Arrange with our friends in the polling organizations to allow the pre-convention polls to be accurate. That’s right: we want to show Trump surging and even leading, so that it’s more believable when we jigger the polling methodologies to have him trailing badly.

a. This element is critical because we must demoralize the Trump primary voter. Remember the 60 million number: somehow we must depress that to below 55 million. One tried and true method is to convince even the staunchest supporters that their guy doesn’t have a chance. Go fishing. Those rednecks love that. Or to a NASCAR race (or whatever it’s called). Just not to vote.

2) Make sure our minions in the media know that they need to cover these polls, to the extent of all other real news, especially those damned rallies. We cannot allow the public to think that there are millions of other voters out there just like them. Remember Saul Alinsky: Isolate your target!

4) Media part 2: They need to blow up every single comment Trump makes that even remotely might be twisted into saying something outrageous. (Did I say that at no time are they to actually cover anything that Cankles, er, scratch that, Mrs. Clinton, says that might be controversial? She is very dangerous when she actually talks and people actually listen. Keep the crowds small, and keep the meds close by.

AND FOR GAIA’S SAKE DON’T MENTION THOSE DAMNED EMAILS. That, terrorism, law and order, the economy, . . . well, in fact any actual policy looks bad for her. Keep them focused on something Trump said, even if you have to make it up.

5) Here is the biggie. None of the above will work if we don’t stifle Trump’s conservative support. We already dealt with polling, but this is more important: Get a bunch of conservative tools—you know, the idiots at National Review and Weekly Standard—convinced that they are “hurting” conservatism if they support Trump. Get them blogging, writing, on TV, doing anything they can to make it look like “real” conservatives oppose Trump. Of course, once we win, whatever “conservatism” they thought they were supporting will be meaningless as we will crush them faster than a Maverick missile takes out a Soviet-made Iraqi tank. But let ‘em think they are important and they’ll play along. They have to. If Trump wins, they are gone.

That’s it. Beating Trump should be easy if we just follow the old plan. SCREWTAPE

Sounds real to me.

Last night a saw a few people who attended the Fairfield CT rally saying that those in the “press pen” didn’t look happy. I find that really encouraging. We’ve already seen CNN’s ratings drop below that of MSNBC, and that is do largely to Trump’s all out attack on CNN and their dishonesty. I’ve also read numerous twitter feeds by “reporters” covering the rallies, in which they complain about the hostility and abuse heaped upon them by both Trump and the rally-goers, which has got to take a psychological toll. Plus, these “reporters” are seeing these massive, wildly enthusiastic crowds first hand, and they know that all their wild over-the-top attacks just aren’t having the desired effect.

I’ve done some checking, and found that until mid-October 2012, Romney’s biggest rally was 14,000, with most of his rallies after Labor Day numbering anywhere from 3 to 10,000. He did have one rally of 30,000+, but that was a couple of days prior to the election. Essentially, Trump is having rallies which are not normally seen until well into the Sept - October time frame. In 2012, both Romney and 0bama contented themselves with fundraising, and a few very small campaign events, nothing on the scale of Trump’s events.

Yes, Minion had one big 30,000 FL rally (and lost FL by 75,000 votes) and a big one in Westchester, OH (and lost by 200,000 votes), but both of these were late in the game and not constant.

Knocked it out of the park, Larry - I heard it in my head in the voice that read the C. S. Lewis classic in my car while travelling.

Let’s not forget how the Dems stole Ohio in 2012. That state has, I believe the longest early voting of all; something like four weeks. There are several hundred thousand Obama phones in Ohio. It was said that the D’s contacted each one on their phone (either text or recording) and advised them that if their name did not appear on the voting list having voted, they were shutting off their phone.

If they did that in Ohio they did it every where.

We need to turn out our vote. Friends don’t let friends wit at home and carp that their guy didn’t win. This is the last election we have as a free and brave country if Hillary wins.

Thank you for the ping...

So now we know who is who and where is where and as the Clinton RICO mafia family says: ‘is is is...’...

She is going to lose, there is no other way, she doesn't have the support, the people are not showing up to her rallies..if that is what you want to call them...Bernie was having rallies as big as Trump's and he won most of the States, but she took them from him...we all know about that...

Don't discount the Manafort sting...this man is deadly, more so than Trump being a ‘viper’...you say something false about Trump and his come back knocks you down for the count, example: ‘Lying Ted’; ‘Low energy Jeb’; ‘Lieahauntsis’ Warren; and so on...they have stuck with these people and they will continue to do so...as Carly about ‘her face’...

We have had so much fun with Trump, I remember in the beginning I would hit the floor for fear of ‘incoming’ then a few days later, bingo, here was Trump...I'm over that now...whatever he says, I wait and sure enough what he said is true...

The most loathsome are the fake “constitutional conservatives”.

They have achieved absolutely NOTHING conservative.

Obamacare is fully funded.
No wall or border.
Abortions continue bigger than ever.
Planned Parenthood fully funded.
ISIS in more countries than ever.
More terror attacks worldwide by Mooslims than ever.
More Americans on food stamps than ever.
More Americans earning less real wages than 2 decades ago.
More regulations on small business than ever.
More national debt than ever IN SPITE of US Treasury taking in more revenues than ever.
More illegals in country than ever.

Like I said, these fake conservatives are ALL TALK and NO RESULTS. I am so ready for a nationalist, America first, non-career politician. And I have voted republican every time since 1972.

Not only is she a disagreeable old broad, she is certainly not in the best of health ;) There is not a dime she has stolen that will help her in walking on this earth, walking over those many, many lifeless bodies around her stumbling feet many more years. LOL there has never been an election such as this. To think there were many of us *me included* who began when the line behind Cruz was formed. Question, am I feckless? disloyal? Cruz could never have done what Trump has accomplished thus far, for many reasons. Happy is a passenger aboard the TRUMP TRAIN! America wishes to TRiUMPh
